substation networks for floor installation. Immersed in insulating oil to be connected in medium
voltage networks Phase-Phase or Phase-Neutral (up to 34.5kV), with maximum BIL of 200KV and
power ratings available from 3KVA up to 500KVA.

If it is required by the customer, surge arresters could be

provided to protect equipment in medium and low voltage.

These units are manufactured in compliance with ANSI C-

57.12.00, IEC-76, NTC and RETIE standards.

networks for pole installation or in substation networks for

networks with delta or wye connections with supply voltage
of up to 46 KV, maximum BIL of 250KV and available for
power ratings ranging from 15KVA to 5000KVA.

 THREE-PHASE PAD MOUNTED

They are transformers for indoor or outdoor installation
of dead front, which have connecting elements,
protection and incorporated maneuver. They are used in
cases where for security, space or aesthetic need to be
fed with dry shielded underground cable by means of lift

and they are installed on a concrete slab base or

pedestal named.
They have elements of a substation to protect the
equipment:

 Failures in the secondary network and external

overload by fuses bayonet type removable
interchangeable.
 Failures primary overvoltage surge through
elbow type.
 In addition, the transformer protects the primary
network of high current faults in the windings by
limiting fuses or backup link isolation.

SELF-PROTECTED (SP CP
CSP) TRANSFORMERS

These are Single-phase or three-phase transformers which have protection

elements against overloads, external short circuits in the low voltage network and
surges. These units also have oil immersed fuses in the high voltage side to insulate
them from the electric grid in case of internal faults.

Single-Phase transformers available in the following power ratings:

• Power ranging from 5 kVA up to 167.5 kVA, with secondary voltage of 240/120 V.
• Powers up to 333 KVA, with secondary voltage of 480/240.

Three-Phase transformers are available in the following power ratings:

• Powers ranging from 15 KVA up to 225 KVA, with secondary voltage of 220/127 V.
• Powers ratings of up to 1000 kVA, with secondary voltage of 440/254 V.

These transformers are manufactured in compliance with ANSI C57.12.00, IEC-76

and GTC148 standards.

SUBMERSIBLE
TRANSFORMERS

These submersible transformers are available in capacities of up to 3000 KVA

for three-phase transformers and up to 500 KVA for single-phase transformers.
High voltage rating up to 34,5 GrdY/19.92 KV and 150 KV BIL.
These units are designed to operate in a chamber or under ground level vault
and subject to maximum possible flooding period of 24 hours under a water
column of 40 cm above the top of the transformer.
Theses transformers are equipped with substation elements in order to protect
the equipment:
Failures in the secondary network and external overload by means of
interchangeable bayonet type removable fuses.
Failures in the primary network by means of elbow arresters.
In addition, the transformer protects the primary network of high current faults
in the windings by means of current limiting fuses or backup isolation link.
These transformers can be supplied with one of the following configurations:
Radial configuration: End of medium voltage circuit, with load switch open-
closed.
Loop configuration (To continue the medium voltage circuit) with 4-position
switch.
These transformers are manufactured in compliance to: ANSI C-57.12.23,
ANSI C-57.12.24, NTC 4406 and RETIE standards.

DRY TYPE
TRANSFORMERS

Low voltaje dry type transformers

Single phase and three phase transformers with power
ratings from 1KVA up to 500KVA, and voltages levels of
up to 600 volts. These units are designed to operate
indoors (enclosure with IP20 protection) or outdoor (IP23
protection cabinet). These units are cooled by natural
circulation of air and have self-extinguishing high
temperature insulation (class H-180°C) to reduce the risk
of fire in case of external events, short circuit or
overvoltage.
Used in residential, commercial or industrial applications,
with optimum efficiency, low loss and low noise level.
These units are manufactured in compliance with NTC
3445 standard.

Medium voltage dry type transformer

Air-cooled three-phase transformers, manufactured from 75KVA up to 630 KVA with standard
voltage ratings of up to 15KV. Its active part is designed with copper or high-purity aluminum
windings and stack core grain oriented silicon steel with low losses, allowing it to withstand the
high temperature levels to which the transformer is exposed to when connected to a load. These
units have self-extinguishing high temperature insulation (Class H-180 ° C) to reduce the risk of
fire in case of external events, short circuit or overvoltage.

These transformers are useful for raising or lowering voltage levels, in residential, commercial or
industrial applications.

Rymel´s dry-type transformers offer optimum efficiency, low losses level, and minimum noise
levels.
Advantages and Applications:
 Due to its lower weight (compared to an
oil unit) it allows to be located inside
buildings and/or elevated floors.
 Its Self-extinguishing insulating material
allows the dismissal of fire-proof rooms.
 These units have a cheaper construction
permit and their maintenance is easier
compared to oil immersed transformers.
 These transformers have no tank, given
the fact that they are located in a
substation cabinet.

 WILDLIFE PROTECTOR
COVER
Descriptión
It is a device for protecting live parts of the terminal insulators bushings in different
equipment installed in the power distribution system and which may be exposed to
potential contact by animals or people.

Objetive
This wildlife protector cover is used in the insulators
installed on distribution transformers, regulators,
switches, load break switches, lighting arresters, and
others to prevent birds, reptiles, rodents and other
animals to cause short circuits or faults between
phases or between phase and earth that could affect
the quality of service and increase the costs of
operation and maintenance.

It is made of a material which is resistant to ultraviolet

radiation, tracking, abrasion, shear, to carbonization,
to cracking and deposition of feces of animals, it has
high impact strength (not less than IZOD of 160.1
Joule / m), has a maximum water absorption capacity
of 0.09% by weight and a minimum dielectric strength
of 300V / mL.

It aims to increase the insulation level of the structure

and increase the leakage distance phase to earth.
