Anora Beach resort, a 24 suite resort located in Kovathur,


Chennai, between Mahabalipuram and Puducherry, India.
Site:
-The site is about 800 metres from the sea.
-The climate is usually hot and humid though the year.
-Recreate the effect of an ocean view on Aland locked
site.
-Apart from the suites, the requirement included a
conference hall, restaurant and swimming pool.

The cottages are planned to meander around the exsting mango trees so that it does not obstruct the existing site conditions.
Concept:
The construction harks back to traditional techniques like Local 'thin' brick columns and terracotta tlled roofs create a
sandstone arches and random rubble walls. semi-open dining area.
The elongated roof Is the project's most striking feature. The roof Is punctured which will allow creepers to sprawl across
the roof and make their way Into the interiors creating a lush
Inside-outside space for the user.

The Principal Architect Mustafa Ameen had the concept of designing a contemporary resort
following the ‘less is more’ principle.
The existing trees were left untouched and more plants were Local materials such as stones and bamboos were used to

The total resort is basically divided into three major broad

•Enough green and water body are used inside the built form.
•Double height spaces used for interesting environment.
•Wood ,bamboo and many artificial materials are used to create differentFeelings.
•Lavishly designed and furniture's are nicely arranged.

Climatic aspect:
•As Sylhet is a city of rain , the buildings are designed as they can protect themselves from rain
•As the weather is too humid and hot, so plantation and greenery is used in total site.
Lighting:
•The openings are so wide, that we can see there is proper use of daylight.
•Most of the openings are north south faced, so they get proper sunlight
•Louver , parapet etc. are used to create interesting lighting environment
There are five types of room category in this resort. They are
presidential suite , Luxury suite, Executive rooms, Deluxe room and
Premier rooms.

Restaurant:
• The dining/restaurant facilities of the resort is distributed
throughout the resort.

KUAKATA
Kuakata is a beach town known for its panoramic sea beach. It is in southeastern Bangladesh and is the number sizeable
tourist destination in the country. Kuakata beach is a sandy expanse 18 kilometres (11 mi) long and 3 kilometres (1.9
mi) wide. From the beach one can have an unobstructed view of both sunrise and sunset over the Bay of Bengal.
Geography
Kuakata is in Kalapara Upazila,
Patuakhali District. It is about 320
kilometres (200 mi) south of Dhaka, the
capital, and about 70 kilometres (43 mi)
from the district headquarters.
Demographics
According to the 2011 Bangladesh
census, Kuakata had 2,065 households
and a population of 9,077.

Culture
Kuakata is a place of pilgrimage for Hindu and Buddhist communities. Innumerable devotees arrive here
at the festivals of 'Rush Purnima' and 'Maghi Purnima'. On these occasions the pilgrims take holy baths at
the bay and participate in the traditional fairs. One may visit a 100-year-old Buddhist temple where the
statue of Goutama Buddha and two 200-year-old wells are located.
