What is Verification?

A way of preventing errors when data is copied from one medium to another
( e.g. from paper to disk/CD ).

What is visual verification?

Checking for data entry errors by comparing the original paper documents with
the data entered into the computer.

Why are Validation and Verification needed

Verification gives the answer to the question whether the software is

being developed in a correct way and validation provides the answer
whether the right software is being produced. In a nutshell,
verification denotes precision whereas validation indicates value of
the end or final product. Therefore, when used together, will help to
reduce the number errors in data entry.
