Cisco DNA Software for SD-WAN and Routing

Easily Buy and Manage Software for Your Network Edge

With more digital devices being used, people and suppliers are placing greater bandwidth demands on
the enterprise network of modern businesses like <Customer Account>. As a result, the WAN should be
responsive to this increasingly mobilized workforce, adapt to future business needs, and minimize
software deployment challenges. Each of these factors has the potential to disrupt an organization’s
workflow and productivity. As such, IT professionals may encounter some of these challenges in
managing a WAN:
 More data usage: Mobile users working at branch locations now expect a similar user experience as
they have at their primary location. As a result, your WAN software should deploy an intelligent WAN
with high reliability as well as provide adequate bandwidth for feature-rich media.
 Lack of buying options: Some WAN solutions require you to purchase the same licenses for
different devices. However, license portability is a more accommodating approach. In addition,
purchasing software in one lump-sum doesn’t provide adequate flexibility. Your software strategy may
benefit from a subscription-based agreement.
 Dwindling IT budgets: As many IT budgets are shrinking, it is essential that you get the most out of
the resources that you have. Your WAN should automate deployment with centralized policies and
distributed enforcement. Additionally, the software should have adequate support in place.
Cisco offers Cisco® Digital Network Architecture (Cisco DNA™) Software for SD-WAN and Routing to
help you purchase the right software capabilities to address your business needs. These software
products offer greater value to customers with reduced complexity and more features.

Connect and Secure Your WAN

Cisco ONE Security

Foundation for  IP Security (IPsec) VPN is a robust, standards-based encryption technology that
WAN enables your organization to securely connect branch offices and remote users. It also
provides significant cost savings compared to traditional WAN access such as Frame
Relay or ATM. One of the most widely deployed network security technologies today,
IPsec VPNs provide high levels of security through encryption and authentication,
protecting data from unauthorized access.
 Cisco TrustSec® security simplifies the provisioning and management of secure access
to network services applications. Unlike access control mechanisms that are based on
network topology, Cisco TrustSec policies use logical groupings. This means access is
consistently maintained even as resources are moved in mobile and virtualized networks.

maintenance tasks. It also lowers operational costs and allows common access policies
to be consistently applied to wired, wireless, and VPN.
 Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) VPN offers "anywhere" connectivity not only from
company-managed resources but also from employee-owned PCs, contractor or
business partner desktops, and Internet kiosks. Cisco Secure Desktop, a component of
SSL VPN, provides data-theft prevention even on non-corporate devices.

increased granularity of firewall policy application, and a default deny-all policy. This
prohibits traffic between firewall security zones until an explicit policy is applied to allow
desirable traffic.
 Cisco Secure IPS is an inline, deep-packet inspection feature that effectively mitigates a
wide range of network attacks. Cisco IOS IPS provides your network with the intelligence
to accurately identify, classify, and stop or block malicious traffic in real time.A

IOS Software for a layered security approach throughout your network infrastructure.

Cisco ONE WAN  Cisco Unified Communications Manager Express (CME) unifies all your voice, video,
Collaboration data, and mobile applications for collaboration with Cisco Unified Communications
Express solutions for your independent branch offices.
 Cisco Unified Border Element (CUBE) connects to an IP telephony service provider
using built-in Cisco Session Border Control (SBC) functionality.
 Cisco TDM Gateways offer a variety of different voice network modules to deliver IP
connectivity to the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN), a Public Branch
Exchange (PBX), or an analog device. They also provide toll bypass services within an

Cisco has a long history of setting and achieving goals to reduce our environmental impact. Answering
the call to limit global temperature rise to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels, in early fiscal 2022, we made
our most important commitment yet: Cisco pledges to accelerate companywide strategies to greatly
reduce carbon emissions across its value chain. Cisco commits to reaching net zero across all scopes of
emissions by 2040, which includes our product use, operations, and supply chain. We also commit to
reaching net zero for all global Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 2025. Our holistic approach extends
from how we design, build, and deliver products, to how we value the assets we have and turn them into
new products. We also apply Cisco technology to support our customers in their own circular
transformations and to achieve their sustainability goals.
We are going to meet our ambitious goals by:
Continuing to innovate and make our products more energy efficient, which is critical to driving down our
Scope 3 emissions and reaching our net zero goal.

Accelerating use of renewable energy: in the past 15 years, we’ve made significant investments in
renewable energy, which has helped us drive down our Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions. For example,
we have achieved 100% renewable electricity at our facilities in the United States and several countries in
Europe and we have a goal to use electricity generated from renewable sources for at least 85% of our
global electricity by the end of fiscal year 2022.
Embracing hybrid work: supporting a culture of well-being that is flexible and puts people first, we will
continue to make our products and our workspaces conducive to a positive and productive work
environment and empower employees to make smart travel and commuting decisions that benefit them
and the planet.

Circular economy at Cisco: five focus areas

Cisco Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Goals

Cisco technology and people are accelerating global problem solving in ways that have never been
attempted before. From solving customers’ business challenges to tackling the toughest social and
environmental issues of our time, we are helping to make the impossible possible.
We have a goal to positively impact 1 billion people through our social impact grants and signature
programs by 2025. Since 2016, we have positively impacted 530 million people.
These goals span from emissions associated with our operations, several related to product and
packaging design, and supplier emissions and waste. Through these goals, we are pushing toward big
changes.

Environmental
Our approach to protecting the environment is an inclusive future takes everyone, including future
generations into account. Cisco has set long-term goals to address the environmental impacts from our
products and business operations.
We look for opportunities to minimize our impact on the environment in every corner of our business and
supply chain and seek ways technology can reduce energy use and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
See what we made possible in 2020.

Social
Cisco’s actions related to our corporate social responsibility (CSR) are grounded in our Conscious
Culture, where trustworthiness and ethical conduct are expected and supported among our employees,
suppliers, and business partners.
We act boldly and deliberately to accelerate fairness, inclusion, and equitable access to opportunity—to
make a positive social impact. Internally, we strive to foster an inclusive and diverse culture where
employees can be their whole selves while building new skills, exploring areas of interest, and becoming
catalysts for social change.
Powering an Inclusive Future for All is not a vision Cisco can achieve by acting alone. Partnerships and
collaboration—with customers, governments, nonprofits, and even competitors—allow us to multiply our
efforts and scale our impact. We are building these partnerships to help achieve a common vision: a
world where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

Governance
Our Supply Chain Human Rights Governance Committee, chaired by the Senior Vice President of Supply
Chain Operations and comprised of senior supply chain executives, maintains executive oversight of risks
and opportunities within the supply chain. This committee allows us to integrate human rights policies and
priorities into business operations and garner feedback across functions. Supply chain representatives
also participate in Cisco’s Human Rights Advisory Committee, which convenes executive and senior-level
employees from across the company to drive Cisco’s overall business and human rights strategy.
We use supplier scorecards to measure and communicate conformance to Cisco’s requirements for
human rights and environmental stewardship. Having sustainability metrics alongside cost, quality, and
service delivery allows procurement managers to make informed decisions when awarding business to
suppliers.
