The vast and magnanimous land of Fantasia was so wide spread that even the scintillating and piercing

rays of the sun hanging in the sky were not enough to cover the huge tract of land with its brilliance.
Even the sun hanging on the clear and spotless horizon had its limitations.

A young man seated beneath a gigantic tree canopy situated on top of a small hill was peering towards
the sun through the crevices as if trying to challenge its might unaware of his surroundings;.

The azure sky on top of the grassy farmlands and wild forestry was a heavenly view that nobody could
get tired of. Yet this young man was intent on staring at the blazing sun instead of the heavenly view.

If one could look closely than one would find that the young man was not really glaring at the sun but
was lost somewhere in his own thoughts all the while ignoring the stinging pain in his eyes.

“Does the world exist because of us sentient species or is it us who are arrogant enough to chart out
territories and divide this world as we please?

“Or is it that, even a body as large and magnanimous as our world is prone to infestation of unwanted
creatures that are intent on destroying and dividing it? Then wouldn’t that make us the parasites?”

“How vast and generous is this world to tolerate such a large bunch of selfish parasites within its body
without displaying its angst and helplessness against its unlawful occupants?”

This young man was looking for answers that he could not find elsewhere. He was peering at the sky as
if waiting for a revelation. Havih had been an inquisitive person for as long as he remembered. He had
many questions regarding this world that he lived in. Some answers he found from experiencing
different things and some remain unanswered even until now.

Havih was a young man who looked no different than a normal village kid. He was already about to be
22 years old but looked no different than an 18-year old due to his lean stature. He had sharp facial
features which were enough to place him among the more handsome young men of the village. But
what differentiated him from the people his age were his shining black eyes which were like a
bottomless abyss waiting to devour everything.

Even though he was just an ordinary human, the lowest of all the races that existed in Fantasia he
always felt that he was special. Not because he was a strong warrior or because of an abundance of
magical skill but only because of the strong confidence that he had in himself. In a world where strength
and magic level defined right and wrong, this lowly bug wanted to climb to the top of the food chain.

These thoughts occupied his mind when he was jolted awake by a ruthless shake from a heartless and
mean looking young fellow beside him.

His name was Porter and could be considered to be the only person capable of dragging Havih out of his
delusions. He had a constantly frowning face which would become even more terrifying when he tried
to be intimidating and condescending. He had smooth and fair skin which was complimented by the
scholarly clothes that he was donning giving him a more refined look. The only thing that was out of
place was the constantly frowning face that was not better than a sniveling thief or a local village thug.

“Hey, are you even listening to me?” Porter thundered at Havih while his face that was already quite
intimidating disfigured even further.

“Are you trying to be uglier than you already are? Is it a game that you came up with right now? You are
such a genius; just as expected from the student of the only Green-robed scholar of the village.” Havih
retorted sarcastically while picking up his axe from the other side. Even though Porter looked as if he did
not have any friends, it was not so in reality. He was the son of the strongest warrior of the village
whose prestige was no less than the village chief himself and the student of the most learned scholar of
the village. Scholars were distinguished based on the color of their robes which determined the realm of
knowledge they had reached.

Porter did look like a cold-blooded hooligan but was chipper like a bird in reality which was concealed
by the scary face he usually made. Once he started to talk he could go on forever. That’s why Havih had
a habit of ignoring him midway between his rants.

As Porter started to grumble and complain in a shrill tone, Havih picked up his axe and started to strike
the tree with all his might. Even the most forceful of his strikes were not enough to carve a single dent in
the tree. This was not because Havih was not applying enough power or because the axe was dull but
due to the strength and resistance of this tree that had been on this hill for as long as the village existed.

The legend stated that this tree was once an ent that reached the end of its lifespan and turned into a
normal unmoving tree upon its death. The Ents were mythical creatures in the Fantasian history which
were born with vitality magic and a hard as metal bark. This specific ent was supposed to be one of the
oldest of those creatures and the strongest too.

Cutting it down was next to impossible yet Havih was hell-bent on splitting it with his axe. He had
already been at it for a whole 3 years and he had yet to make a scratch on it.
