MY RESEARCH TOPIC

The new pandemic of Covid-19 has created exceptional problems and has impacted the educational
industries, and no one can ever predict when will this stop. Nevertheless, this pandemic could not stop
the educational industries to continue rendering services for the needs of the learners. New normal
learning was introduced with different modalities: the modular distance learning, Online distance
learning, and television/radio-based instruction. As a teacher taking up my master’s degree in education,
I was given the opportunity to do a research project and my research topic would be determining the
effectiveness of modular distance learning in the numeracy skills of grade 6 learners in Cabintan
Elementary School. I chose this topic since I am a teacher in the said school and assigned as a grade 6
teacher.

THE PURPOSE OF MY RESEARCH

The purpose of my research study is to give knowledge to the teacher about the effectiveness of
modular distance learning in the numeracy skills of grade 6 learners in Cabintan Elementary School, as
such the teacher will know if what they are teaching in the modular approach effective or not.
Specifically this research seeks to fine answer to the following questions:
1. What is new normal learning?
2. What is modular distance learning?
3. What is the level of effectiveness of modular approach in the numeracy skills of the learners?
4. Is there a significant difference between the numeracy skills performance of the learners in the
face-to-face classes and the modular distance learning?
5. How can the learner exercise his numeracy skills in the modular distance learning?
With this questions I may be able to gather data to help me measure and determine the effectiveness
of modular distance learning in the numeracy skills of the learners.
