UNICEF

A child, according to the United Nations International Children's


Emergency Fund (UNICEF), is any person under the age of 18.

UNESCO

According to UNESCO, every human being under the age of eighteen


years is covered under the law applicable to the child.

WHO

The World Health Organization (WHO) defines a child whose age is below
18 years old.

PHILIPPINE CONSTITUTION
Under Republic Act No. 10821, also known as the  “Children’s Emergency
Relief and Protection Act”, “child” refers to a person below eighteen (18) years of
age or those over but are unable to fully take care of themselves or protect
themselves from abuse, neglect, cruelty, exploitation or discrimination because of
a physical or mental disability or condition as defined in Republic Act No. 7610 or
the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination
Act.

UNICEF
An adolescent, according to UNICEF, means a person between the ages
of 10 and 19.
UNESCO
According to UNESCO, a 'youth' or 'adolescent' is someone between the
ages of 15 and 24.
WHO
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), an adolescent is any
person between the ages of 10 and 19.

PHILIPPINE CONSTITUTION

Under Republic Act 8044, otherwise known as the "Youth in Nation-


Building Act", youth is defined as the critical period in a person’s growth and
development from the onset of adolescence towards the peak of mature, self-
reliant, and responsible adulthood, comprising a considerable sector of the
population from the age of fifteen (15) to thirty (30) years.
