Is there an alternative opportunity for licensed CPAs and accounting graduates other than an underpaid

and overworked working conditions for big accounting firms under the guise of great mentorship? The
average salary of an entry level accountant in our country with no working experience is around ₱
15,000.00 - ₱ 17,000.00 which do seem a lot, but is it enough? Enough to pay monthly bills? Enough to
save money for emergency situations? Enough to buy things that you want every once in a while, to
reward yourself?

For almost three (3) decades, the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) industry has continuously
flourished in our country. With the advancement of technology, the archaic way of performing
accounting duties such as journalizing entries in books can now be done using the computer and be
uploaded in the internet that can be accessed on the other side of the world and as a result, opened up
unlimited new avenues in terms of opportunities for fresh graduates and newly licensed CPAs.

As economies continue to grow, more complex tax and regulatory environment are expected to
continue to lead to a strong demand for accountants and auditors. BPOs offer an alternative that not
only pays higher than local firms, but also gives more freedom to its employees by working remotely in
the comforts of the home.
