A green economy is seen as a system of principles, goals and activities, which embrace goals of sustainable
development, sustainable and efficient use of resources, consumption and production, creation of green jobs,
eradication of poverty, improving competitiveness and securing growth in the major economic sectors,
development of green business and related infrastructure in the regions.
Discussions on green economy and assessment of its capacity will contribute to the formation of the interregional
information exchange framework; it will also support regional decision-making processes concerning conceptual
issues of a green economy and green jobs, tourism industry development and food security governance, which are
an integral part of the sustainable development.
Progress towards a green economy that creates green jobs and improves environmental safety is considered a key
element of sustainable regional development.
The conference is supposed to discuss the issues on integration of economic and environmental policies, which
will help to identify new potential sources of economic growth and sustainable development.
Rural tourism is one of the instruments for sustainable regional development. The adoption of Federal Law No.
318-FL on 02.07.2021 enhanced activities of state and non-governmental organizations aimed at the rural tourism
development. Rural tourism can be seen as a means for sustainable development of small towns, rural areas and
related tourist sectors – agrarian, ethnocultural, event-driven, gastronomic, educational, etc. Rural tourism
contributes to the sustainable regional development, creation of favorable conditions for life, work and recreation.
