All pre-cast units are manufacture to the relevant sections of BS EN 1917 & BS5911-3 and carry the
appropriate BSI “Kitemark” where applicable.

Double step and ladders require DN 1200 shaft to comply with the confined spaces regulations 1998.

The smallest recommended Reducing slab with DN 1200 access is DN1800.

It is recommended that DN 1350 and DN 1500 chambers are not reduced unless alternative means of
access are available.

If DN 900 shafts are used these should not be fitted with steps or ladders and access should be by winch
only.

If DN 1050 shafts are used these should not be fitted with ladders and access should be by steps and winch
only.
