PRIDE

LGBTQ2+
All around the world, 2SLGBTQ+ people and their allies
celebrate Pride. In Canada, we celebrate and recognize Pride
in the month of June each year. Pride is a celebration of the
diverse and resilient 2SLGBTQ+ community

PRIDE PARADES
Pride parades were born out of
protests. The first Pride parade was
held in New York City on June 28th,
1970, as a result of the Stonewall
Riots which took place one year
earlier.

5
PRIDE PARADE The Pride parade is a chance for the community to
celebrate and express who they truly are. A chance
to honour the past, celebrate in the moment and
strive for a more inclusive future. Allies, from
families, friends, politicians, community groups and
businesses come out to Pride parades to show their
support.
