CLINIC MANAGEMENT SYSTEM WITH RESPECT TO THE NORMAL CONDITION

Module 2: ACQUISITION AND SOURCING

1. Differentiate between build and buy in software and hardware acquisition.

Building a Clinic Management System will help medical staffs such as doctors, nurses,
and clinic assistants to better manage their clinic, improve clinic efficiency, streamline clinic
operations, make accurate claims for patients, reduce clinic expenditure and staff manual
labor, and provide patients with improved care.

2. Explain the advantages and drawbacks of building and buying in general.

The Advantage of building a clinic management system in the new normal is it can
be used to manage the patients, the appointments, the doctors’ schedules, prescriptions,
manage the inventory. It makes the otherwise difficult task of managing a clinic. This system
comes with android and iOS apps with which the doctors can check their schedule and
patients can book appointments, manage prescriptions and may provide SMS or email
notifications regarding appointments.

3. Differentiate between in-sourcing and out-sourcing for the acquisition of IT services,

including support.

Outsourcing in Clinic Management System helps improve patient care and

maximize staff efficiency. Outsourcing helps providers offload their most tedious
management and administrative tasks so they can spend time where it counts: on
making patients better.  It can help deliver higher quality customer service and patient
outcomes.
4. Explain the advantages and drawbacks of in-sourcing and out-sourcing in general.

The advantage of outsourcing in Clinic Management System is it can directly and

indirectly save money, by reducing administrative costs and increasing process
efficiencies. The most commonly outsourced medical services are medical billing,
coding, insurance claims processing, transcription and receivables management, and
clinical outsourcing.

5. Explain the importance of testing, evaluation and benchmarking in any IT sourcing

decision.

Clinic management system usage should be made necessary in daily clinical

practice. After the implementation is complete, testing will be done to find any error
and bugs. Black box testing and white box testing will be applied. Later, the user will do
testing. The system outcome will be able to improve the workflow of the clinic starting
from registration until billing to the patient. At the same time, it will maintain all the
data that can be accessed anytime.

6. Explain the importance of a well-structured contract in any IT sourcing decision.

The Contract is important in Clinic Management System because it allows

healthcare organizations in the clinic to provide the best possible care to patients,
reduce operating costs, assure adherence to compliance requirements, and mitigate
risk.

7. Analyze the appropriateness of a decision to buy or build a software package or a

hardware component in a given situation.

Building a Clinic Management System to deal with the tough times in the new
normal is the only solution that healthcare providers have is to manage their patients
and facilities competently. By automating some of the significant processes (like
appointment scheduling), managing patient information with compliance, insurance
claim settlement, patient & billing management, healthcare providers can make ways
for providing better care facilities.
8. Analyze the appropriateness of a decision to in-source or out-source IT services in a
given situation.

In Clinic Management System outsourcing IT services enhances patient care and

facilitates electronic recordkeeping and data security. It ensures that the system in
place is put to full use. IT installations and usage practices are standardized,
software is updated regularly and maintained bug free, data security and patient
data privacy are maintained, clinic system happens online, workflows are
optimized, and quality checks are done on time.

9. Given a set of evaluation criteria, test, evaluate and/or benchmark an IT system, or a

component thereof.
- We cannot test or evaluate our Clinic Management System Because our system
hasn’t been done yet.

10. Examine a given contract and assess how well-structured it is.

- We cannot test or examine it also , Because our system hasn’t been done yet.
