SULONG DUNONG NG DIBISYON ONLINE COMPETITION

1. The vision-mission statement of the Department of Education's Library Hub Project is

anchored on the establishment of Library Hub in every school's division as reservoir of
adequate and varied quality supplementary reading materials for every school's
division nationwide to be used by the learners in all schools-

Relative to this, Schools Division Library Hub of DepEd Batangas launched its program
Sulong Dunong ng Dibisyon last 2017, with the aim of reaching the far-flung area with
Library hub books. Materials are delivered door to door on the selected far flung
schools and conducted storytelling and reading activities. The LipatAklat Project under
the said program continues until today despite the cunent pandemic situation through
inclusion of SRMs in the distribution of the Learning Kits among Grade 3 pupils in every
schools in the Division.

3. This year, to continue its advocacy of building and nurturing learners' reading habit
and interests, SDO Batangas-ClD LRMS shall conduct Sulong Dunong ng Dibisyon
Online Competition which will have the following categories:

1 . Digital Story Telling with a Twist for Grades 1 to 3 (Tagalog) and for Grades
4-6 (English);
2. Book Talk Your Favorite Book for Kindergarten; and
3. Online Poster-Making Contest for Junior High School and Senior High
School

4. This endeavor is also to join the nation in celebrating the National Book Month with the
theme "OUTCOMES. OUTREACH. OUTSTANDING: Libraries Beyond Boundaries"

2. To showcase student's talents on Poster making with an in depth interpretation of
the National Book Month theme

6. The mechanics and different committees are attached for perusal.

7. Certificate of Recognition will be awarded to the winners and winning schools;

Certificate of Participation will be given to all Division qualifiers.

DIGITAL STORY TELLING wlTH A TWST

a.This contest is for Key Stage 1 (Grades .l-3) for Tagalog Category and for Key
Stage 2 (Grades 4-6) for English Category.
b. The participants shall view and listen to the storytelling video to be provided
with deep understanding. Filmed stories to be retold cab be accessed through

c. The participants shall retell the story. ln doing the retelling of the story viewed,
the participant shall change the ending of the story to make a twist. li shall be
recorded.
d. The said Storytelling activity shall have school, district, area and division level.
Only the four (4) congressional level winners shall qualify in the Division Level
(i.e. 4 qualifiers for Tagalog category and 4 qualifiers for English category)

BOOK TALK YOUR FAVORITE BOOK

a. . This contest is for Kindergarten pupils.
b. The participants will select his/her favorite story book from the library hub
collection lent to the district through the help of their teachers.
c. ln doing the book talk video, the participant shall dress up and introduce
him/herself as one of the characters in the story. He / she shall discuss the title
of the book, its characters, the gist of the story and explain why he / she likes
the book. lt shall be recorded.
d. The book talk activity shall have school, district, area and division level. Only
the four (4) congressional level winners shall qualify in the Division Level.
