Why were some of you more successful than others ?

Scenario 3 and 4

★ We tried to follow a structured way to approach people.

★ Addressed the entire organisation by using the relationship network and appropriate
levers according to the stages at which individuals in the organisation were.
What seemed to work? What didn’t?
Scenario-4
★ Selection of levers. Town hall meetings and walk the talk worked well for most of us in the initial
steps
★ Selection of proper levers to improve the credibility. Walk the talk in awareness phase worked
well to improve the credibility.
★ Selection of pertinent people if weren’t chosen then build a coalition of support didn’t work and
credibility hampered.
Scenario-3
CEO’s public support worked well as a third step
Consultant’s support also worked for us.
Were there any common missteps?
Scenario-4
Walk the talk as a first step led to reduction in credibility.

In reactive phase, restructuring worked for us but in proactive phase, it didn’t work and
credibility hampered.
Scenario-3
Restructuring of organization and showcasing of progress report lever reduced credibility.

Use of walk the talk at initial stages reduced the credibility along with no change in the
organization.
Did you take any time to diagnose and strategize before
you began to act?
Scenario-4
First we tried to understand the problem and what needs to be changed

Who are we?

What should be the first step to initiate the change

Scenario-3
First we tried to understand the problem underlying to the change associated with
the change of the role.
What levers do you find yourself using first? How about
later?
Scenario-4
Same for both the Scenarios:

➔ First used by maximum members: Town Hall meeting, Issue e-mail notice, walk
the talk, get consultant’s support.
➔ These didn’t work later after the members reached in interest and trial stage.
Scenario-3

First lever used by maximum members: talk with CEO, consultancy and walk the
talk at initial stages of Awareness and interest stage helped to overcome the
change in the organization.
Did you find the same levers work the same way for each
one of you? Across three different scenarios? Why do you
think that happened?

Scenario-3 & 4
No, as the scenarios were different across the group members and according to
the context, implementation strategy of change need to be bought in the
organization.

The roles played in scenario-3 was different which intricated the different change
processes of implementation.
