The Tri-Flex 2/DataSystem Triaxial Test Set provides the geotechnical engineer with
a comprehensive line of products satisfying the latest in triaxial testing techniques.
The system, which is modular in design, can be tailored to suit the requirements of
a wide range of customers including commercial testing laboratories, educational
institutions and governmental agencies.
The set is made up of various components, with the major items being:
■ The 11,200 lb. (50 kN) capacity Digital Tritest 50 Load Frame featuring a
microprocessor-controlled stepper motor drive system providing fully variable
speeds from 0.399999" (9.99999 mm) per minute to as low as 0.000001"
(0.00001 mm) per minute. A large LCD screen with touch-sensitive keypad for
precise setting, control and viewing of all load frame functions.
■ A Triaxial Cell complete with accessories for drained and undrained testing of
2.8" or 70 mm diameter specimens to confining pressures of up to 145 psi
(1,000 kPa).
■ The ADU Data Acquisition Unit with 8 channels, for automated data
acquisition and recording of test parameters.
■ Complete set of Electronic Measurement Transducers for load, displacement,

The Digital Tritest 50’s unique drive system performs with virtually no vibration
as the test loads are applied, regardless of the testing speed selected.

Straightforward in design, the Tri-Flex 2 Master Control Panel meets the demands
for an accurate, yet simple-to-operate panel system for use in triaxial and
permeability testing.The panel is easy to operate, with a limited number of
controls and an easy-to-read digital pressure display system. Fast, easy connection
and removal of additional system components allow quick system setup.
The operator has complete control of system pressure and flow measurements
during specimen testing, with three independently-controlled pressure regulators
— one for confining or cell pressure; one for lower or pore/head pressure; and
one for upper or back/tail pressure.The bridging feature lets the operator quickly
set the pressures of multiple burette systems with just one regulator.
Each burette/annulus assembly has a selector which opens or closes the access to
the annulus.When opened, up to 400 ml of water is available to the operator for
specimen saturation and other test stages without refilling the burette assembly.
By a simple flip of a switch to activate the digital pressure display system, any of
the regulated pressures can be displayed in digital form to an accuracy of ± 0.25%
of reading within range.
The Tri-Flex 2 Master Control Panel is designed in full compliance with ASTM and
AASHTO specifications for use in the application, monitoring and data recording
of test conditions.
