BUILD, BUILD, BUILD PROGRAM

Aside from Tax Reform Program, which is the reduction of the income tax, Build, Build, Build
Program is designed to modernize Philippines’ infrastructure that earmarks P8 trillion for much-needed
airports, seaports, railways, roads, bridges, hospitals and schools up to the end of Duterte’s term in
2022. According to DOF Undersecretary Grace Karen Singson, this is to keep the government’s goal in
sustaining the rapid growth of the Philippines, attract investments and attains economic inclusion for
many Filipinos. The program will create 1.7 million jobs by 2022 as well as secure the country’s fast-
paced growth in the medium term.

Duterte’s Administration has many proposed programs which gives me hope for the continuous
development of the country. One of his programs was the BBB program which I think will help many
Filipinos. Once it is implemented Philippines will have more buildings, better roads and more public
transportation will be made. Which it will be easier for most Filipinos to commute. It will improve rural
incomes and it will help vulnerable communities because BBB Program is proposing flood control
facilities due to the climate change in our country. Also, it will help many Filipinos to have stable jobs. I
agree and as much as I want, I want this program to be implemented as soon as possible. This program
is worth the money, and it can improve the lives of Filipinos.

One of the examples or the proposing projects of the BBB program is the Metro Manila Subway
which will help Filipino commuters to go to their destination without experiencing traffic and being
huddle by people. It will also be more convenient because subways are fast. As we all know Filipinos are
early birds. They are always on time and don’t want to be late. As a student I am very pleased to know
that BBB program wants to implement subways because I considered myself as a slow person. I always
woke up early, but it will take a long time for me to get ready or dressed for school. If I am going to
study in Manila, it will be convenient for me to use subways since I want to be at school on time. Same
goes with employees or people whose house is far from their work or schools. Another proposing
project in BBB program is that it will create jobs that will help many Filipinos. When the time comes
there will be no poor Filipinos because all Filipinos will have stable jobs and all of them can provide the
needs of their families.
