A BRIEF HISTORY OF KSU LABORATORY HIGH SCHOOL

The Kalinga State University Laboratory High School is formerly the


BIBAK( Benguet, Ifugao, Bontoc (MP), Abra, Kalinga-Apayao) National Agricultural
School which initially operated on May 30, 1971 by the mandate of Republic Act 3663.

On January 26, 1986, Presidential Decree 2017 was signed into law mandating
the merging of the Kalinga Community College, BIBAK National Agricultural School,
Dona Eufronia Molina Puzon Memorial National High School and the Tabuk National
High School into Kalinga-Apayao State College. However, its operation took effect only
on October 7, 1992.

Due to the strengthening of programs like the Bachelor of Secondary Education


(BSEd), a need for a laboratory school was also further realized. Hence, on May 2,1994
BIBAK NAS was fully integrated as one of the components of KASC.

The Kalinga-Apayao State College was converted into Kalinga State University
through merit on December 15, 2015 by virtue of the CHED Certification acknowledging
the conversion of KASC to Kalinga State University which was eventually confirmed by
the KSU Board of Regents through its Board Resolution No. 1243, s. 2016 dated
January 21, 2016.
