Assessment task 6: Evidence of reflection

In tasks 5 and 6 you will evaluate the lesson that you taught in the Experience phase and you
will reflect on your developing teaching practice in general. Use this template to help you write
your reflection before getting formative feedback. You can then change your draft based on the
feedback. When you are ready to submit your portfolio, copy the text into the ePortfolio template
provided. You should use continuous prose without subheadings.

Analyse the effectiveness of the lesson you taught; highlight the aspects that went well and
explain why you think they went well. [Give an example]

What have your students learnt? How do you know this? [Give an example]

How do you know your practice had an impact on this? [Give an example of how your
teaching affected the students’ learning, with evidence]

Evaluate what aspects of the Award had a particular impact on the lesson. Give an example
[of how what you learned in the Award made a difference in the classroom].

Evaluate your existing teaching practice; identify which aspects need further development and
explain how you intend to change and develop these in your future practice. [You might like to
refer to the Cambridge Teacher Standards for ideas.]
