Universidad de Sta. Isabel (USI), the
Heritage and Historical University of Bicol and the first normal
school for women in the Philippines and Southeast Asia. As
Universidad de Sta. Isabel marked its sesquicentennial foundation
this year, Vincentian Sisters also looked back with pride how every
Isabelino and Isabelina started their journey, how the gift of
education molded them and how they painstakingly nurtured the
Vincentian Excellence through their leadership. As part of the
year- round celebration of USI, is the blessing of the Frassati
Sports Center and Concierto de Sesquicentenario led by the
University Band last August and the grand opening of Museo
Historico de Universidad de Sta. Isabel and had a glimpse, of a
grand musical production on the history of USI on September.
These paintings were refurbished by the professional
painters of this time. These paintings are classified as secondary
sources since it is not the original artifact. They represent the
important events that happened during the Spanish reign and it tells
the story of how the University started and evolved into what it is
now.

These documents (faculty members’ list and grading sheet) are written
records of the past of the later schools in Naga City, Bicol. These archives are
assessed as secondary sources because these are already clones of the original
parchment, However, the content are considered as primary sources. Through
these copies of documents we can identify the changes in recording data of students
and teachers.
According to the description, this attire was
used in order to distinguish the higher class from the
lower class. This is considered as a primary source
since it was worn by the past elite students that served
as their identification. This shows how conservative
and elegant the elites are. Also, this brought us the
realization of how discriminative the people of the past
are.

These bomb shells left by the


Americans were found after the war on the
stacks of dismantled buildings inside the
University. These are obviously a primary
source because this is the actual bomb shell
used during the war. The bomb shells
symbolizes how violent and how devastating
the war was before.

This is an archive notebook that contains the list of


generous donors who contributed sources after the
war of the University. This is considered as primary
source since it is the actual notebook used in post-
war era. The said archives tells how the university
face and raise again with the help of those unselfish
people.
The tabernacle is a liturgical furnishing used to house the Eucharist
outside of Mass. This provides a location where the Eucharist can be kept for
the adoration of the faithful and for later use (e.g., distribution to the sick).
The word tabernacle means “dwelling place.” Any place someone dwells is a
tabernacle. The term is also sometimes used for a temporary dwelling place.
This church sacramentals were the earliest objects used during the
celebration of the Holy Eucharist. This can be considered as a primary
source since this is the actual tabernacle used used during mass.

This relic is owned by St. Catherine Laboure, a founder of the


miraculous medal. This is assessed as secondary source, according to our
research, we found out that there are a lot of fake relics and we have also
considered the doubtful authenticity of this since we cannot compare it to the
real or actual object. This relic serves as the symbol of St. Catherine even
though she no longer live, same goes with other Saints.
