Part III: Ethical Systems

Being appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of Wal-Mart Germany,

I am obliged to protect the company brand from any harm and ensure the
prosperity and integrity of brand across the globe in consideration with
code of ethics.

Unfortunately, Wal-Mart's attempt to impose its global Statement of Ethics

on its employees in Germany ironically ended to German Federal Court.
The people of Germany are highly regarded in our eyes and their sentiments
and ethical values are immensely important for us. As the CEO of Wal-
Mart, I would like to add three vital subjects to the code of ethics of our
business operation in Wal-Mart Germany.

 As per German labor laws, the intimate relationship between employees of

opposite gender is permitted. It is believed that it is their consensual labor
right. We extend the liberty to all Wal-Mart Germany employees that they
can exercise this right to have intimate relationship and our management
would not restrict the personal freedom of employees because we believe
that it is the ethical and moral right of employees in Germany and every
country has its rules and regulations and compliance to them is our utmost
responsibility.. Being the obstacle in love life of people is an unethical
practice. The sales clerks are allowed to pass smiles and be friendly with
customers and other staff members as it is the natural behavior of
Germans and restricting them for this is being unethical. However, this
freedom is based on a condition that it should not touch or come in
harassment rules violation in any way and all employees should abide by
these rules.

 The practice of chanting and stretching exercise that all workers were
required to do at the start of their day is now abandoned. It was intended
to build morale and instill loyalty among workers but it turn out be a
strange and ambiguous practice in minds of German workers. We believe
that German perspective is different and we did not intend to embarrass or
forced this practice. It is ethically wrong to necessitate this practice that is
not the part of job description and its expectations. We value the dignity
and fundamentally inherited principles in our employees and take care of
their well-being. This global practice is now eliminated from the code of
ethics in Wal-Mart stores of Germany.
