Comparatives: A comparative is used to explain the difference(s) between two elements.

There is more than one way to form the comparative of adjectives:

 For one-syllable adjectives and two-syllable adjectives ending in –y, use adjective + -er.
An iPad Mini is cheaper than an iPad Retina. friendly - friendlier

Be careful! There are often spelling changes when you add –er.

nice – nicer big – bigger pretty – prettier

Be careful! Some adjectives have irregular comparative forms.

good – better bad –worse

 For most other adjectives of two or more syllables, use more/less + adjective.
Android Oreo is more modern than Android Marshmallow.
Microsoft mobile operating systems are less popular than Android.
