1) NATIONAL VETERANS MEMORIAL COMPLEX

“Sovereignty is a priority for a nation to exist!! “. Ethiopia is a country where cultural, economical and
historical features have lived on for millennia’s. One can easily understand from looking into the
country’s history, that the existence of Ethiopia is based on the young men and women who have given
their lives for it to continue.

- It would be such a shame not to praise, remember and recognize these patriots who have paid with
their lives.

- The aim of these project is to present them in humanistic and relatable way.

PROBLEM

As we all know our nation is in a volatile situation. Ethnic clashes are being reported every single day
.the government is sending thousands of armed forces to the problematic sites. These has created a
huge concern on the citizens of the country. One of the concerns is the sovereignty of the nation. Now a
days Dissolution is also one of the nightmares for the region and the people of the country.

CRITERIAS

1 NATIONALISM – these days I personally would understand if a person argues that these word is not
associated with morality but I believe that nationalism has been hijacked by hate groups around the
world to exclude and diminish others

- Nationalism basically is the awareness of ones cultural, historical and economical achievements and
taking prides on those elements and also recognizing and respecting others

- I personally believe that the true meaning of nationalism is found within the brave men and women of
the past and the present generation

2 VIRTUE – the true goodness, uprightness, rectitude is found within the veteran community. To show
the young generation these values would be a great achievement.

3 ECONOMICAL – the complex is composed of different sections these sections provide for the
community, veterans and also truism.

4 SOCIAL – parts of the Addis Ababa are lacking a recreational space for the elderly, these project would
probably provide one

2) HOUSING

Addis is the capital of Africa and the third diplomatic city next to New York and Brussels .housing
congestion in the city has been a concerning problem

- To solve the current situation of housing in Addis today a different approach from the usual should be
reached. The low quality of life is directly influenced by the housing factor.
CRITERIAS

1 ECONOMICAL – the inhabitants of Addis Ababa are mostly people in the lower class so to improve the
housing improves the quality of life.

2 CULTERAL – creates a new community that is sustainable and with a good quality of life

3 SOCIAL - creates a new sense of social interaction based on sustainability and other factors

3) HOTEL

The truism industry appears to be growing from time to time in Ethiopia. These asks for different
infrastructures to be built .one of these is the hotel sector.

CRITERIAS

1 ECONOMICAL – create new jobs for inhabitants living around the area and save national currency

2 CULTURAL – introduce the diverse Ethiopian culture to the whole world

3 SOCIAL – improve the quality of life of the community in the district
