magic and the occult. The left hand path refers to most forms of magic thought of as 'dark' or
'evil', including Satanism, Luciferianism, and curse work. This is in opposition to the right hand
path (Wicca, Judaism, christianity, etc). According to the RHP, the left hand takes in energy and
destroys, and the right hand exudes energy and creates.
The left hand path has long been associated with evil, but most people who follow it see it as an
expression of independence and personal empowerment, and the rejection of authority (both
divine and societal, although some LHP practitioners do acknowledge higher powers).
Those who follow the LHP do not acknowledge moral codes and law like the Three-Fold Law,
and thus practice baneful magic.
The LHP also tends to be geared towards free thought, self-serving, personal boundaries, radical
self-love, and self-preservation. In short, the LHP is centered around you, the practitioner, and
not anyone else.
There are several core beliefs held by most LHP practitioners. These are freedom (in society, in
magic, and in beliefs), exploration (of the self in all areas, and of the outward unknown),
strength, and Antinomianism (the act of nonconformity and acceptance of that which is outside
the norm).
There are also four 'steps' to working the left hand path: self-discovery, self-acceptance, self-
actualization, and self-deification.
There is no set of deities that all LHP practitioners worship or work with, but common ones are
Lucifer, Lilith, and various demons. Any deity can help on the LHP.
