Introduction

You’ve begged and pleaded and finally you may be able to convince your family…it’s time for a
pet! This expansion to Fort adds two modules: Dogs and Cats. You can use one or both.

Dogs Module
18 dog cards, 3 of each suit
4 doghouse boards

Setup
Shuffle all 18 dog cards. Each player draws 3 dog cards. Return the remaining dog cards to the
box.

Each player draws 5 kid cards instead of 8 kid cards.

If you’re using the Advanced Setup, draft the dog and kid cards together as normal.

Using Dogs
During your Cleanup Phase, you do not discard dogs in your Yard to your own discard
pile—instead, you discard them to the discard pile of the player to your left.

During your Play Phase, you can play a dog instead of a kid as long as you fulfill the
requirement listed on the dog. When you play a dog, you’ll use their bonding action, which
cannot be followed.

Just like a kid, you can add a dog’s suits to your action, and you can discard a dog to follow a
leader’s action. Likewise, dogs remaining in your hand will go to your Yard during your Discard
Phase, and dogs can be recruited as normal.

Unlike kids, dogs cannot be trashed or put in your Lookout.

Clarifications for Specific Dogs

If a dog prompts you to discard other suits, you can count each coin you discard as its own suit.

The Doghouse
Every bonding action ends with tucking the dog under a doghouse. (Usually your own, but
sometimes a rival’s.) A doghouse can hold any number of dogs. (It’s more of a dog-mansion.)
No component yet, just stack them to the side of your board

Scoring
At the end of the game, the player with the most dogs in their doghouse scores 7 points. If
players are tied for most dogs, each tied player scores 7 points.

All the dogs in your doghouse count toward your made-up rules that score based on the number
of cards and suits you have.
Cats Module
6 cat cards
8-10 by the end, open to suggestions

Setup
Shuffle all 6 cat cards. Deal 1 cat card per player to a face-up row near the Victory Track.
Return the remaining cat cards to the box.

Using Cats
Cats do not have a suit and cannot be played or discarded. (They will never go in a player’s
hand.)

Instead, each cat has a triggered power that says when it happens and what it does. This
power cannot be followed.

Attracting Cats
At the start of your Draw Phase, check whether you fulfill the attraction condition of any cats
on the table. Place each cat that is attracted to you face up next to your player board. Do not
count coins as other suits for attracting cats.

(This means other players can attract cats away from you in the same way. It doesn’t matter
whether you also fulfill the condition—the cat will still move to the new player.)

Cat Scoring
At the end of the game, each player scores points based on the number of cats they have next
to their player board:
1 Cat = 1 Point
2 Cats = 3 Points
3 Cats = 6 Points
4 Cats = 10 Points
