Homeroom Guidance

Topic: Gratefulness

"Gratitude turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance,
chaos into order, confusion into clarity...it makes sense of our past, brings peace for today,
and creates a vision for tomorrow." —Melody Beattie

Today’s activity is geared toward being grateful of yourself:

 Psalm 139:14 I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your

works are wonderful, I know that full well.
 Luke 12:7 In fact, even the hairs on your head are all numbered. Do not be afraid;
you are more valuable than many sparrows.

Objectives:
 To cultivate AUPA students a habit of being grateful from every episode of their
lives.
 To develop an environment of gratefulness among students as their way of life.
Guidelines for Homeroom Guidance:

1. Divide your class into five or six students per group and assign a facilitator
2. Individually, let them watch the provided 12-minute video about Gratefulness.
Share the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BlU7q_wIMVU or play the same
video on this google drive.
3. After watching, send them to breakout rooms to answer the following questions for
10 minutes.
They can either verbally answer the question, write, or draw on a piece of paper.
Share questions only after watching.
a. What have you done in your life that you’re grateful for?
b. What aspect of your personality that you are grateful for?
(ex. Cheerful, trustworthy, helpful, artistic, generous, responsible, etc)
c. How have you used your talents recently, and what have you enjoyed about
doing that?

4. After the breakout, ask a representative from each group to share their discussion.
5. Appreciate their participation!
6. End with a prayer
