Management decision problem

The management decision problem is whereby when a situation arises,
and management of a company needs to make a decision which
requires research and hence starts the research process.
The Management decision problem we are looking at is

What should managers do to increase the investment by the risk

takers?
We want to understand the motives and reasons behind the investment in the
risky assets by the risk takers of the market. A study that would revolve around
developing a strategy to attract more risk-taking investors and also, to try and
increase the financial knowledge in the population to motivate them to
increase their portfolio size.

The management decision problem has been approached at using

various forms of analysis, as well as conducting detailed PIs and
understanding observations via surveys. This helps to analyze the
customer preferences and make strategies which are in tandem with
the same.

The three Objectives of our research are
1. Understand the customer mindset and the rationale behind the
investing decision of the respondents in risky assets based on their
investment pattern and what they want to invest into
2. Apprehend the different types of respondents based on the factors
impacting investments decisions.
3. Analyze the importance of the different demography, geography and
spheres of people investing in risky assets and how these factors impact
their investment decisions.

Process
First: Collection of information
Initially to collect qualitative data we have used the method of personal
interviews, focus group discussions and surveys

Conducting personal interviews, focus group discussions of the

respondents and asking them various questions about what do they
look for when they invest into the risky assets and what are their
priorities in terms of returns, savings, or some of the must have
requirements for them to invest in a specific risky assets
After this
The questionnaire was developed based on the factors received from
the Personal interviews. A google form was created and shared to
the sample population. The respondents were asked to rate the
factors on a Likert scale on how strongly they agree or disagree while
considering the factor as a component for choosing an investment
asset.
We used Likert scale to quantify the variables. The scales are
consistent and used 1 for not at all important factor to 4 as very
important factor while making a decision. Along with this, we
inserted some open ended and multiple choice questions to have a
better understanding of the motives of respondents.
Next, analysis
After the collection of primary and secondary data from the surveys,
interviews and research we used a non probalistic sampling
technique namely cluster analysis on the IBM SPSS software
provided. The results of the analysis helped in understanding the
four different clusters under our study
Lastly : Results and recommendations
After the analysis done from the collected data, various conclusions
were drawn from the results generated which helped in fulfilling our
objectives
