TYPES OF ENGINEERING

1. AEROSPACE/AERONAUTICAL ENGINEERING
It is the science involved with the study, design, and manufacture of flight-
capable machines, or the techniques of operating aircraft. This course
trains an engineer in designing, constructing, analyzing and testing of
commercial or military aircrafts, missiles, and space crafts.

2. MECHANICAL ENGINEERING
It is an engineering branch that combines engineering physics and
mathematics principles with materials science to design, analyze,
manufacture, and maintain mechanical systems. It is the branch
of engineering that involves the design, production, and operation of
machinery.

3. CHEMICAL ENGINEERING
It is the branch of engineering that deals with chemical production and the
manufacture of products through chemical processes. This includes
designing equipment, systems and processes for refining raw materials
and for mixing, compounding and processing chemicals to make valuable
products.

4. ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING
It is one of the newer branches of engineering, and dates back to the late
19th century. It is the branch of engineering that deals with the technology
of electricity. Electrical engineers work on a wide range of components,
devices and systems, from tiny microchips to huge power station
generators.
5. COMPUTER ENGINEERING
It is defined as the discipline that embodies the science and technology of
design, construction, implementation, and maintenance of software and
hardware components of modern computing systems and computer-
controlled equipment.

6. INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING
It is the field of engineering concerned with the design, analysis, and
operation of systems that range from a single piece of equipment to large
businesses. Industrial engineers serve in areas that range from the
production of raw materials to manufacturing to the service industry.

7. BIOCHEMICAL ENGINEERING
It is the use of biological (natural or organic) materials, such as organisms,
cells and certain molecules, to develop products and processes. Industries
that depend on biochemical engineering include biotechnology, biofuels,
pharmaceuticals, water purification and food.

8. ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING
It is the application of science and engineering principles to improve
the environment (air, water, and/or land resources), to provide healthful
water, air, and land for human habitation and for other organisms, and to
remediate polluted sites.

9. AGRICULTURAL ENGINEERING
It is the branch of engineering involved with the design of farm machinery,
with soil management, land development, and mechanization and
automation of livestock farming, and with the efficient planting,
harvesting, storage, and processing of farm commodities.

10. MARINE ENGINEERING

It is a branch of engineering that deals with the construction as well as the
operation of mechanical equipment of seagoing craft, docks, and harbor
installations. The basic job of a Marine engineer is to design, build and
maintain vehicles/structures used on or around water.
