History of modification:
The high quality level of the KONVEKTA air conditioning units is guaranteed by continuous
development of the construction, equipment and accessories. This may result in differences
between the present maintenance instructions and your air conditioning unit. Please under-
stand that no claims can be forwarded regarding the instructions, the pictures and the de-
scriptions.

1. General Description
1.1. KS 45 Hardware
1.2. KS 45 software
The software of the KS45 is independent of the operating software of the KN400. The CAN
transmission protocol exchanges the commands and values with the KN400 network. Control
parameter and functions are stored in the KN400. The operating software for the KS45 can
be downloading via the program KSFlash and carry the V24 engine in the control over.
2. Function description

When the power supply to the unit is interrupted the unit will carry out a self test after having
impressed voltage. Thereby all in- and outlets are being checked. In case parts of the air
conditioning unit (i.e. sensor) have to be exchanged, a self test has to be carried out to cali-
brate the unit.

The course of the self test is shown on the display: S01, S02 etc.
The nodes and be switched from the KS45rail KN400rail administered by Master on and log-
out.
Log In: When logging is the position, software version and configuration
for 5 seconds on the display.
Log Off: When Logout is ---- the position, as displayed and version number.
When KS45rail failure or interruption of the line are no CANopen Control signals to the mas-
ter KN400rail transferred and registered an error. By creating the signal (release manage-
ment) despite the lack of control switches CANopen connection from the KS45rail KN400rail
to the Master after about 5 minutes in the operating AUTO to ensure the operation. If the sig-
nal (release control turned off), is the KN400rail OFF.
Software Basic 1
Control ON (keypad operation and direction of travel)
- Preheating / Preventilation 1
- Preheating / Preventilation 2
- Under voltage 1
- Under voltage 2

- 400V / 3Ph available
- More compressors can be started
- Reduced availability of power supply
- AUTO
- Reheat (via AUTO button when active)

The switching of the signals can also be done with a short "circuit break" because the state
delayed system to be passed. Note: The +24 volt power supply must go hand while switching
channels, however, be present.

After switching off the KS45 EEProm is stored in the following functions:
To allow for operation via the keyboard must first release Enabled, then the average passen-
ger room temperature is displayed. If the release is not active blink the colon in Sekunden-
tackt.- A control (enable operation via keyboard and direction) Display:- Current actual tem-
perature averaged space The six films buttons can be set and the functions The shortcut can
be queried and version numbers Errors are called.
The air conditioning control unit possesses an AUTO - function, which depending
on the temperature activates the cooling, ventilation or heating to regulate the
temperature in the vehicle.
The air conditioning control unit possesses a reheat - function, which enables the
humid air to dry.
– Compressor
– Condenser
– Evaporator blower automatic
– Recirculated air flap to recirculated air
By activating the compressor the air in the duct gets cold and the roof heating heats against
it.
After 20 min. the reheat – function will automatically be turned off.
The recirculated air flap is controlled in AUTO –function, depending on the temperature.
Through the button T6 the recirculated air flap can be determined manually, i.e. in case of tunnel pas-
sage.
By pressing the button twice S5 the outside temperature is displayed on the dis-
play, again press back twice to room temperature.
If there are several mistakes that run automatically on the screen through. Note: There will be
max. 8 Error of KN400 retrieved.
An erase the error is only with the PC tool KSDiag possible.
By pressing the S2 and S6, or after a waiting period of 10sec. the mode is switched back to
the basic display.
The initial setting is [size 0], so all controls for all 4 groups are simultaneously controlled. By
adjustment of the individual group with the control groups can be independently controlled
CANopen are connected.
With the keys S3 + S4 can then group the required number will be selected.
Pressing the button S1 and S3, the mode with the [rSt] rely on the display and a self-test.
The following operating modes can be adjusted through external signals. A release by the
signal [A control] is not necessary. When there is no external signal, the colon blinks every
second.
AUTO
Display:
- If current average room temperature
- AUTO symbol
- CLIMATE minutes when Stern. Use a compressor
Keys:
- S3 temperature correction +
- S4 temperature correction –
- S5 Manual fan setting
- S6 Tunnel
- S1 + S5 query the error code
- S2 + S6 querying the version number
Additional features:
- MAXIMUM heating
By long pressing S3 (about 10 sec when AUTO active)
Display: - 4 bars on the temperature indicator at the top ----
- MAXIMUM Cooling
By long pressing S4 (about 10 sec when AUTO active)
Display: 4 bars on the temperature gauge below ----
The following settings are permanently stored in even after the power is removed or re-
leased:
Display:
After switching on the power supply, the backlight is active. If there is up to no external power
supply signal is the cur-rent averaged temperature display.
5. Error handling
Error handling via control unit KS45
The vehicle being turned off, the error storage can be called up by simultaneously pressing
the buttons S1 „AUTO“ and S5 „Evaporator blower“.
When the display remains dark there is no error registered.
In case the display indicates i.e. 0200 there is an error registered.
With the button T3 „increase“ the next error can be called up.
