EX18: Make examples for each uses
for “Present Simple”and “Present Continuous”  
  
Present simple tense  
  
1. We use the present simple when something is generally or always
true.  
 Example: The sun rises in the East and sets in the West.
It’s cold in winter and hot in summer.
2. Similarly, we need to use this tense for a situation that we think is
more or less permanent.  
 Example: It rains every afternoon in the hot season. 
It cold every afternoon on a winter night.
3. The next use is for habits or things that we do regularly. We often
use adverbs of frequency.  
 Example: I play tennis every Tuesday.
I get up every morning.  
4. We can also use the present simple for short actions that are
happening now. The actions are so short that they are finished
almost as soon as you’ve said the sentence.  
 Example: She doesn’t want you to do it.
I don’t like it.  
Present continuous tense  
  
1. To describe an action that is going on at this moment.  
 Example: She is studying English grammar.  
I’m doing my homework.
2. To describe an action that is going on during this period of time or
a trend.  
 Example: More and more people are becoming vegetarian. 
My English is improving. 
3. To describe an action or event in the future, which has already
been planned or prepared.  
 Example: I'm meeting my boyfriend tonight.

4. To describe a temporary event or situation  
 Example: The weather forecast was good, but it's raining at the
moment.
