One Week Marketing Action Plan

Day 1 –

Research topic/keywords/affiliate program

Open Squidoo account

Reserve needed urls for lenses

(If doing domain forwarding, purchase domain and set domain to forward to affiliate product via your
hop link/affiliate link)

Note: Make sure keywords are tightly focused and are a direct research topic for the product you are
promoting. Relevancy is key.

Day 2 –

Make lenses & publish lenses

Submit RSS feed for each lens to:

Feedage.com

Feedest.com

Note: do this at the same time with each feed site open in a separate tab on your browser. Copy the
lens RSS feed, submit to Feedage, and then paste RSS feed into Feedest.com box. Feedest.com allows
you to submit multiple feeds at one time.

Go to:

3StepAds.com

Unique-Article-Database.com

Writers-Block-Unblocked.com

And submit free blog posts to each.

Note: Open all three sites in separate tabs. Write one blog post (be sure to make live links out to your
lenses with good, relevant anchor text). Give a well-keyworded title. BEFORE publishing the first post,
copy the content of the post and paste into the other two sites. Then, publish your first post. Now go to
the others, Change up the opening text and give each a new and unique title. Publish the other two.

Just a word of warning, two of those sites are mine. If you spam them, I will delete your posts and
your account without warning or forgiveness =)

Join fan clubs of other lensmasters who have lenses on related topics.

Do NOT do any other promotion for your lenses on the Squidoo site until you lens has been indexed by
Google.

Day 3 –

Check to see if lenses are indexed (Search Google for the exact and total url of each lens)

If lens IS indexed by Google, join groups on Squidoo.

Also, make one small change to each lens and re-publish them.

Now, go to SquidUtils.com. Sign in with your lensmaster name. Click ‘ping’ next to each lens. If you get
an error message saying “Error- lens not recently edited” – go back and change a little something else to
your lens and try to ping it again.

Note: Your lenses will need to have a green check next to them on your Squidoo dashboard before you
can do this with SquidUtils.

Whether lens is indexed or not, begin writing one article per lens and submitting it to EzineArticles.com

Day 4 –

If lens was not indexed yesterday, check again. If they are NOT indexed, repeat Day 2.

Finish articles for EzineArticles.com

Day 5 –

Check stats for Squidoo lenses. Are you getting organic traffic from Google? Are the keywords people
are using to find your lens on topic and relevant to the targeted keyword for that lens? If not, change up
your lens.

If keywords ARE relevant, create a free Blogger blog with those keywords as the titles for your blog
posts.

Day 6 –

Continue work on blog. Submit blog RSS feed to feedage.com and feedest.com.

Put blog RSS feed on the Squidoo lenses.

Make a post on the three free blog sites listed above to promote your blog.

Day 7 –

Comment on other lenses. Rate other lenses . Basically participate in the Squidoo community. Don’t
bother trying to leave links to your lenses in others guest books. These links are ‘no follow’ and don’t do
you any good.

Lensroll your lenses on your other lenses in that campaign. While on one of your lenses, scroll down
right side and click ‘lensroll’ – choose what lens to add it to. This makes a link on the sidebar of the lens
you are adding it to.

Research new campaign keywords/product. Open new Squidoo account. Buy domain in using domain
forwarding.

Day 8 –

Start Back at Day 1

Notes:
- Around week 2 or 3 of a new campaign, Google will be dancing your lens all over the search
results. Some may find their lenses completely disappear. This is normal!

If/when you find this happening, repeat all steps in Day 2. This will help Google decide what to
do with you =)

- Don’t be afraid to use your own EzineArticles as content for an additional lens or blog post for
your campaign. Just be sure to give the lens or blog post a unique title and a unique intro/first
paragraph.
- You can add your author RSS feed from your Ezine Articles as an RSS feed on your lenses. This is
a great way to “cross-promote” your content.

Bookmarking Sites I like:


I am not big on the whole social bookmarking thing, but I have found some sites to prove their value to
me. I use:

ClipClip.com (love this one!)

ClipMarks.com

Squoogle.com

Lensroll.com (found from within the SquidUtils.com dashboard)

Article Sites I like:


EzineArticles.com

GoArticles.com – article is published and ‘live’ instantly – tend to rank well.

HubPages.com – This site is tricky and picky, but if treated like a true article submission (as opposed to
like a lens), you can do well with these. Also rank well.

Zimbio – Easy to make instant web pages/article posts, rank ok in the Search Engines, BUT, they use ‘no
follow’ on links within the content.

New Site I am impressed with:


Scribd.com – This site allows you to upload documents onto their site. These rank VERY well, and are
indexed quickly. When used properly, these can be quite powerful.

Tools I Use For My Campaigns:


Google Alerts – love ‘em! No better way to know when Google is crawling your content than having
GOOGLE tell you!

SquidUtils.com – GREAT tools for lensmasters. The lens ‘health check’ is a neat tool – but works best for
more established lenses (months old). Good feedback, but not overly accurate for new lenses.

SquidAHolic.com – enter the url of a lens and see how much traffic it gets, what words it ranks for (if old
enough). Love this tool, especially when deciding whether or not to enter a keyword market.

SEOBook.com Keyword Tool – My FAVORITE free keyword tool. All my research starts right here.

Photobucket.com – Don’t have a way to host your images online? Photobucket does it for free!
