Introduction
This assessment will evaluate your ability to develop engaging educational scientific content, demonstrate
excellence in the use of the English language, grammar, attention to detail and interpretation of clinical data.
The test should take no longer than 2 hours to complete and should be no more than one page of text.

Instructions
You have been asked to write a short communication for a primary care audience based on the CAROLINA
trial (Cardiovascular Outcome Study of Linagliptin Versus Glimepiride in Patients With Type 2
Diabetes) You have been provided with the publication of the CAROLINA study that assessed the
cardiovascular outcomes of linagliptin compared to glimepiride (sulfonylurea) in patients with relatively early
