PREPARED BY-
NAZIYA SAYYAD
OBJECTIVE-
The objective was to study particularly, the current color trends
Neons and Pastels and also how people respond towards them
as a Fashion Aesthetic.

RESEARCH INSTRUMENT-
The research instrument used here is basically a set of questions asked to
10 people through social media platforms and also some secondary data
collected through various Internet Articles.
WHAT IS NEON ?
Fluorescent or neon colors
are extremely bright
versions of primary and
secondary colors, such as
blue, red, green, yellow and
purple.
Fluorescent colors stand
apart from other types of
color due to the fact that
they emit light, making them
luminescent. When the
emitted light falls in the
visible spectrum of light that
can be seen by the human
eye, the luminescence is
rendered in color.
Fashionistas and celebs give
the perfect ideas for wearing
such trendy colors.

Neon colors adopt some of the

psychological traits of their
related Colors. Electric blue can
feel calm and tranquil, much like
pure blues, while neon pink takes
on the fun and playful
characteristics of pink.
However, the fact that neon
colors are ultra-bright can distort
their inherited traits. There's alot
to it when Neon enters the world
of fashion.
NEON IN FASHION AND STYLING.

When it comes to controversial

trends, neon shades usually top the
list. They are too bold to wear every
day, and too bright to pass
unnoticed. In 2020, neon in all its
diversity again became a fashion
trend. Neon first came into fashion in
1980’s along with the development
of technologies in dyeing fabrics: the
latest developments in that era
allowed to experiment with the most
unusual hues, including glowing
neon. In 2020, the neon palette has
become much more diverse and
includes almost all of the existing
fluorescent not to stuck in grey and
black-and-white monochrome in
summer. Fluorescent clothes and
accessories were popular on a
number of designer catwalks last
year - think Gucci, Versace, Prada -
and, unsurprisingly, it's a trend that
headed straight for the high street.
Everyone from Little Mix to Dua Lipa
to the Queen have been getting
involved.
Wearing Neons with Neutrals:
Neutral shades are easy to
complement any look and give a chic
style to your personality.
Accessories in Neons Colors: If you
are not bold enough then adding
neon colors to your dress is a good
idea. With solid color dresses to
cocktail party outfits, neon shoes,
clutches or jewelry look trendy.
It's always a great idea to
experiment with neon accessories.
WHAT ARE PASTELS?
Pastel is an aesthetic that
relates to pastel colors. Pastels
are also known as tints, and are
pale tones of colors made by
mixing a significant amount of
white into the original shade. The
pastel colors can be created by
adding white, into the original
shade, the paler the pastel will
be. They can tie into multiple
aesthetics. They're commonly
linked with Kawaii and cute
culture. Pastel images often have
a dreamy, soft appearance, since
pastel colors can be easy on the
eyes, and evoke feelings of
calmness and nostalgia.

Pastel clothing allows for a

more lady-like appearance that
might not always be what you
are going for. Wearing pastel
colors can come in the form of
a simple piece of added
accessory, such as a handbag
or even your shoes. You can
always balance out with more
edgy styles, mixing and
matching different genres to
get the look that is entirely
you. No matter the season,
pastel colors can be worn with
ease. It can be made to look
chic, edgy, rocker-style, sporty,
Bohemian, or just simply very
feminine.
PASTELS IN FASHION AND STYLING.
The world of pastel colors has so
much to offer, but it has to be
done right to avoid looking
washed out. This type of coloring
brings luxury to mind, candies and
innocence. It brings to mind luxury
on a sunny afternoon, and a gentle
life. Pastels conjure images of
happy babies and well-behaved
children in their Sunday best. The
streets are full of fashionistas who
have managed to really amp up
the style and bring out the best in
pastel clothing. Some have played
with other hues as well, while
others have mixed and matched in
the gentler coloring for every
aspect of their outfits. Some
interesting looks as such include:
• Blue and white tweed with a
graphic tee, pale pink jacket and
matching knee-high boots. All
colors in pastel. Stylish and
entirely in trend while keeping to a
unique look overall!
• Long lavender coat over midi
skirt in pale pink and a white top,
finished off with non-pastel
accessories, bags and shoes.
• A winter pastel look can include
a very pale blue coat over a
similar colored outfit, with white
shoes and white purse, only
contrasted by a darker blue smoky
makeup look.
• Pair pastel blue coats with black
tops, pants or shoes, as well as a
combination of the super darks,
for an interesting look.
RESPONSES AND PREFERENCES OF PEOPLE
TOWARDS NEONS AND PASTELS.

Mostly, they believe one can wear pastel clothing everywhere,
from your office to your dates, cocktail parties to a night on the
town.
Whereas, talking about Neon people gave mixed responses
towards it. One can say not a complete yes, but also not a
complete no.

But also, this is not a case always, their are people with mixed

or all pastel and calm or all neutral with a neon accessory adding
some pop element, completely depends on their mood or the vibe
they wanna create of these mixed personality people.
