ENERGY SOURCES:

 Energy is the strength that is required for a body to perform physical or chemical
work.

Energy sources are widely divided into two main categories which are as follows:

(1) Renewable energy sources

(2) Non-renewable energy sources

(1) Renewable energy sources:

The energy that is dependent on natural resources which are replenished by a
human being naturally is known as "renewable energy".
SOURCES:

There are numerous sources of renewable energy few of them are explained as
under:

(1) Wind Power:

Air spills are utilized to run wind turbines. wind energy is used to turn or rotate the
turbines which are further used to generate power for generators that process and
provides us electricity. wind energy is considered the cheapest source of energy but
it requires a lot of observation and working because for wind powerplants we
require very windy areas so that we may run our turbines and produce electricity in
order to do that we place the turbines at heights so they may get proper wind for
running.

(2) Solar Energy: 

Solar energy is energy that we directly get from the sun. solar panels are serving as
an astounding source of power these days due to the shortage of hydropower in
many countries. solar farms can provide electricity to thousands of places by using
solar plates. solar panels are widely divided into two categories active and passive
depending upon their distribution and conversion of sunlight into electricity.

 
(3) Hydropower energy:

The energy that is given to machines in the form of water and then the machines
work and produce electricity is known as hydel energy . due to the density of
water, it can produce or generate a substantial amount of energy. Dams are a good
example of hydroelectric energy.

(4) Geothermal energy:

The energy obtained from deep underground by hot water and steam is known as
geothermal energy,
this energy can be used to propel turbines. Geothermal energy uses steam or heat
energy from radioactive materials that are present under the earth.

(1) NON-RENEWABLE ENERGY 

Non-renewable energy is a type of energy that can ran-out at any time and there is
no chance to replenish it.
SOURCES:

(1) Coal:

coal contains carbon as a major element it is a non-renewable source of energy

because it takes a lot of time to form. The energy of coal comes from plants that
were common on earth a million years ago. There are many forms of coal which
are used as energy to run furnaces etc.

(2) Petroleum:

petroleum is a liquid or oil that is a source of non-renewable energy and is

available in various parts of the world.it has enormous uses in power generation
because it is used in generating electricity, manufacturing medicines plastics, etc,
and for running vehicles, petroleum is a source of power.
(3) Natural Gas:

Natural gas and petroleum both are found at the same place when oil is drilled
natural gas is also found which is used for commercial and residential use.
