The Lake District


The Lake District is one of the most beautiful national parks of England. There
are more and more tourists every year, who travel there from all over the world.
The district is about 55 km wide. The higher parts are rocky, while the lower
parts are mainly moorland. There are lots of bigger and smaller lakes among
the hills. The weather is nearly always misty here, but you can go hiking or visit
the famous old British poets’ cottages there. You can see lots of sheep and goats,
and you can climb the highest mountain of England, Scafell Pike.
