The industry has many advantages. It can draw on a great deal of research, particularly in

A. Why is crime scene report a critical component of an investigation?

A report is written for a clear purpose and to a particular audience. Specific information
and evidence are presented, analyzed and applied to a particular problem or issue. ... When
you are asked to write a report you will usually be given a report brief which provides you
with instructions and guidelines.
Crime scene reports are critical components of an investigation. They reveal in great detail
what a police officer or investigator saw upon arrival at the scene so that experts can later
analyze the information in an effort to determine what transpired. Therefore, crime scene
reports must be as thorough as possible, leaving nothing out.

B. What is the importance of grammar in documenting police report?

 Grammatical aspect is a strength in the language comprehension.


 The art of analyzing written documents in investigations is a subset of forensic
linguistics. Grammar matters especially when dealing with investigative interviews for
complainants, victims, and subject of complaint (suspect). Grammatical errors,
misspellings or even the unique writing styles might reveal the truth behind the crime
scene.
 Grammar helps in an attempt to evaluate the personal characteristics or psychological
state of the people involved in the crime.
 Investigators must avoid spelling mistakes or recognize their mistakes when proof-
reading their own work. When typing or writing quickly, one may produce clerical
errors, such as forgetting letters, adding letters or switching letters.

C. List down the grammar techniques in writing reported speech.
