Mounting Options (Wall and Pole)

For wall mount and pole mount applications,

the Flex casing (plinth) with four (4) M5
shoulder screws needs to slide into the four
(4) key hole features on the mounting rails
on the bottom side of the AMOB.
Once mounted to the Flexi casing, a
stiffening/fixation bracket must be used to
secure the bottom side of the AMOB front
section to front side fastening points on the
plinth with M5 tamper proof screws. The
plinth may be used to directly mount the
AMOB to a wall, or to interface to pole mount
brackets.

ANTENNA & EQUIPMENT STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS REPORT

November 12, 2018

Site Name: DC52XC402

Site Address: 2445 Lyttonsville Road, Silver Spring, MD 20910

EBI Project Number: 8118000374

Carrier Name: Sprint

This letter is to confirm EBI’s structural analysis of the Sprint antenna mounting system and cabinet support system
at the above listed site for supporting the proposed Sprint equipment upgrade. The intent of this review is to
determine if the proposed installation of antennas, remote radio units, cabinets, and related equipment will exceed
the structural capacity of the existing structural supporting system.

The following sources of information were used in preparing this analysis:

 Radio Frequency Data Sheet prepared by Sprint dated October 4, 2018
 Information gathered on a site walk by EBI Consulting on November 6, 2018

Sprint is proposing the following scope of work (see CD’s for additional information and for items not structurally
significant to this analysis):
At the antenna level:
1. Remove (3) existing Clearwire antennas (1 per sector)
2. Remove (3) existing Clearwire RRHs (1 per sector)
3. Install (3) 800/1900 MHz Sprint antennas (1 per sector)
4. Install (3) 2500 MHz Sprint antennas (1 per sector)
5. Install (3) 1900 MHz Sprint RRHs at antennas (1 per sector)
6. Install (6) 800 MHz Sprint RRHs at antennas (1 per sector)

At the equipment level:

1. Remove Clearwire cabinet and platform once Sprint is on-air
2. Install a new equipment platform on the rooftop
3. Install (1) radio cabinet on new platform
4. Install (1) battery backup cabinet on new platform
5. Install (1) power protection cabinet and telco cabinet on H-frame on new platform
6. Install (1) fiber distribution box on new platform

By engineering analysis and/or comparison, the existing mounting systems are deemed sufficient for
supporting the existing and proposed Sprint equipment listed herein.

Minimum estimated member sizes:

Dimensional information including member sizes, lengths, brace spacing, etc. was not made available to EBI
Consulting prior to this analysis. The following sizes were estimated as conservative minimums. Confirmation of
these minimums is required as part of close-out documentation:
 Existing platform stub columns are estimated to be 4” OD Sch. 40 pipe, minimum
 Existing platform kicker bracing is estimated to consist of L3x3x3/16 steel angle, minimum
 Existing platform steel is assumed to be 50 ksi steel, based on platform age
 Existing antenna mount anchorage to platform is estimated to consist of ½” diam. threaded rods in Hilti HY-
70 adhesive (or equal), anchored into hollow CMU

Limitations & Assumptions:

1. The existing antenna and equipment mounts and existing platform were not mapped prior to this mount
analysis. Calculations contained herein are based upon site-specific photos, existing Construction

Calculate for wind in the X‐direction:
Wind at face of each cabinet =  1182 lb, calculated above
Number of cabinets = 2 cabinets
Total wind at face of all cabinets =  2364.8 lbs
OTM from wind at face of cabinets =  6323.1 lb‐ft
Distance between rails =  10.25 ft
Vertical force couple from OTM =  616.9 lb

Calculate for wind in the Z‐direction:
Wind at face of each cabinet =  646
Number of cabinets =  1.5 cabinets (assume one partially shielded by the other)
Total wind at face of all cabinets =  968.6 lbs
