One of the Best Educational Institutions in Makassar city

Makassar State University cannot be separated from the history of the establishment of IKIP Ujung
Pandang as an Educational Personnel Education Institution (LPTK). Initially IKIP Ujung Pandang as the
Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) of Hasanuddin University Makassar, based on the
Decree of the Minister of Higher Education and Science (PTIP) August 1, 1961 to August 31, 1964,
based on the Decree of the Minister of PTIP No. 30 of 1964 August 1, 1961.
September 1964 s.d. January 1965 the status of IKIP Yogyakarta Makassar branch, based on the
Decree of the Minister of PTIP No. 154 Year 1965 Date 1 September 1965. On January 5 s.d. August 3,
1999, independent status under the name IKIP Makassar, based on the Decree of the President of the
Republic of Indonesia No. 272 of 1965 dated January 5, 1965.
In that phase, since April 1, 1972, the Makassar IKIP changed to Ujungpandang IKIP following the
change in the name of Makassar Municipality to Ujungpandang Municipality. Then on August 4, 1999
until now the status of the University with the name Makassar State University (UNM) based on the
Decree of the President of the Republic of Indonesia No. 93 of 1999 dated August 4, 1999.
This campus has an A accreditation and is a state university in Eastern Indonesia that has been
included in the list of the 100 Best universities according to the Ministry of Research, Technology and
Higher Education. Makassar State University also provides Scholarship opportunities for new students.
Several institutions both from within the country and abroad have provided various scholarship options.
You can take part in scholarships from the government through Bidikmisi, Provincial Government
scholarships, Bank Indonesia, Bank BNI, and other scholarships.
The campus also provides several elective faculties, such as the Faculty of Art and Design, Faculty
of Engineering, Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural
Sciences, Faculty of Languages and Letters, Faculty of Social Sciences, Faculty of Psychology and
Faculty of Sports Science.

Universitas Negeri Makassar tidak dapat dilepaskan dari sejarah berdirinya IKIP Ujung Pandang
sebagai Lembaga Pendidikan Tenaga Kependidikan (LPTK). Semula IKIP Ujung Pandang sebagai
Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan (FKIP) dari Universitas Hasanuddin Makassar, yaitu
berdasarkan SK Menteri Perguruan Tinggi dan Ilmu  Pengetahuan (PTIP) 1 Agustus 1961 s.d 31 Agustus
1964, berdasarkan SK Menteri  PTIP No. 30 Tahun 1964 Tanggal 1 Agustus 1961.
September 1964 s.d. Januari 1965 berstatus IKIP Yogyakarta cabang Makassar, berdasarkan SK
Menteri PTIP No. 154 Tahun 1965 Tanggal 1 September 1965. Pada tanggal 5 Januari s.d. 3 Agustus
1999, berstatus mandiri dengan nama IKIP Makassar, berdasarkan SK Presiden Republik Indonesia No.
272 Tahun 1965 tanggal 5 Januari 1965.
Pada fase itu, sejak 1 April 1972, IKIP Makassar berubah menjadi IKIP Ujungpandang dengan
mengikuti perubahan nama Kotamadya Makassar menjadi Kotamadya Ujungpandang. Kemudian tanggal
4 Agustus 1999 sampai sekarang berstatus Universitas dengan nama Universitas Negeri Makassar (UNM)
berdasarkan SK Presiden Republik Indonesia No. 93 Tahun 1999 tanggal 4 Agustus 1999.
Kampus ini memiliki akreditasi A dan merupakan perguruan tinggi negeri di Indonesia Timur yang
sudah masuk dalam daftar 100 perguruan tinggi Terbaik versi kemenristekdikti. Universitas Negeri
Makassar juga menyediakan peluang Beasiswa bagi mahasiswa baru. Beberapa lembaga baik dari dalam
negeri maupun luar negeri telah menyediakan berbagai macam pilihan beasiswa. Kamu dapat mengikuti
beasiswa dari pemerintah melalui Bidikmisi, beasiswa Pemprov, Bank Indonesia, Bank BNI, dan
beasiswa lainnya.
Kampus ini juga menyediakan beberapa fakultas pilihan, seperti Fakultas Seni dan Desain, Fakultas
Teknik, Fakultas Ekonomi, Fakultas Ilmu Pendidikan, Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam,
Fakultas Bahasa dan Sastra, Fakultas Ilmu Sosial, Fakultas Psikologi dan Fakultas Ilmu Olahraga.
