1.What initiated Marshall Plan?

answer : a U.S. program providing aid to Western Europe following the devastation of World War II. It was enacted in
1948 and provided more than $15 billion to help finance rebuilding efforts on the continent. In addition to economic
redevelopment, one of the stated goals of the Marshall Plan was to halt the spread communism on the European
continent. The Marshall Plan is also considered a key catalyst for the formation of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization
(NATO), a military alliance between North American and European countries established in 1949.

2. Is Marshall Plan related to Block Politic (the influence of Communism)?

answer : No, because the refusal to participate on the part of the so-called Eastern Bloc of Soviet states, the initiative
certainly reinforced divisions that were already beginning to take root on the continent. By and large, though, the Marshall
Plan was generally lauded for the desperately needed boost it gave America’s European allies. As the designer of the plan,
George C. Marshall himself said, “Our policy is not directed against any country, but against hunger, poverty, desperation
and chaos.” Still, efforts to extend the Marshall Plan beyond its initial four-year period stalled with the beginning of the
Korean War in 1953

3. Do you think we should have similar plan in order to speed up our economic development in the remote/underdeveloped
areas such as Papua, Ambon, Sulawesi and Kalimantan?

answer : yes i'm really agree of this statement. why? besause as we know the George C. Marshall himself said, “Our policy
is not directed against any country, but against hunger, poverty, desperation and chaos.” and we know some area at
papua, ambon, sulawesi dan kalimantan. as we know that the area is often ignored or unreachable by the government.
Therefore, we need a similar plan to accelerate development, especially in remote areas in Papua, Ambon, Sulawesi and
Kalimantan. with the existence of a similar program is expected to also help the country's economic growth because as we
know the natural wealth and natural beauty in the area is very numerous and extraordinary and with the program can
make the area a place for foreign and domestic tourists, thereby increasing economic growth of the country and the
region.
