b. What is the purpose of that activity?

- The goal is to raise global awareness of the
need for quality blood and blood products for
transfusion, as well as the vital role that unpaid
voluntary blood donors play in national health
systems. The day also serves as a call to action for
governments and national health authorities to
provide sufficient means and put in place systems and
infrastructure to promote blood collection from
voluntary, unpaid blood donors.

c. During what month or when that activity usually

conducted?
- June 14, annually.

d. Who are benefited by such activity?

- Patients in need rely greatly on the generosity
of those who donate blood. This comprises patients
who have experienced heavy bleeding and require
critical care, such as those involved in accidents.
They require blood immediately. Other patients who
have blood diseases that affect how blood is
generated or functions may also require blood
transfusions.

Volunteering allows you to give back to your

community while simultaneously developing useful
skills and acquiring valuable work experience. It
allows you to make a difference in the lives of those
around you while also changing you. The satisfaction
you can acquire from making a positive difference in
someone else's life is astounding.

As part of the youth sector, I see potential in

volunteer activities involving the youth. The
activities could range from feeding the stray animals
to feeding children in localities where
malnourishment is prevalent. Moreover, environment-
related causes should also be given adequate
attention. Programs I think are significant are river
clean up drives, tree plantings, promotion of water
conservation. Moreover, since vaccination in the
Philippines is still ongoing, I see an opportunity
for the youth to take part in such (example is being
a part of the registration team).

Volunteering is vital because it provides

critical assistance in worthwhile causes.
Furthermore, most organizations rely on the
generosity and compassion of volunteers to assist
those in need. Volunteering allows such a noble group
of people to thrive and undertake important work.
Working to make a positive influence in the lives of
others enhances both your emotional and physical
health. Volunteering can help you reduce stress and
depression, stay motivated, and give you a sense of
purpose.
