Nina went to the zoo. She first went to a section called Bird Borough. Nina saw
many birds there. There were flamingos, parrots and peacocks. She thought the
peacocks were the most beautiful of all the birds. The colours of the peacocks’
feathers were very striking.
After that, Nina went to Cold City. All the animals were from the polar region.
There were polar bears, penguins and seals. Nina got to pet the cutest seal there.
It was very friendly to Nina.
Later, Nina went to the Savanna Square to see animals from Africa. She saw
many fierce lions and tall giraffes there. The most interesting animals to her were
the zebras. Every zebra had black and white stripes, but the stripes looked different
on each one.
Lastly, Nina went to Marine Metropolitan where animals from the ocean were
kept. There were cute clownfish and cheerful dolphins. Nina even got to see sharks
in the biggest tank there.

Tigers are one of the most beautiful animals in the world. Unfortunately,
they are endangered species. This means their number is low, and they will
probably become extinct.
The reason why is because humans destroy their natural habitat by clearing the
forest to build houses and buildings. Some people hunt tigers for their bones. They
use tigers’ bones to make traditional Asian medicine. Farmers also kill tigers to prevent
them from eating their livestock.
In order to protect tigers, many communities have conservations where tigers
can remain in their natural habitat. Malaysia is one of the countries that put much
effort in protecting this amazing animal. After all, Malayan tigers are Malaysia’s
national animal.
Get It Right
1. We use superlative adjectives when we want to compare three or more people, animals or things.
2. We use the word the before the superlative adjective.
3. We add –st or –est at the end of one syllable adjectives to form the superlatives.
Example: She’s the youngest in the family.
4. For adjectives that end in –y, we remove the –y and add i before we add -est to form the superlatives.
Example: Lisa is the happiest girl.
5. Add the word most before the adjectives with more than one syllable.
Example: He is the most handsome boy.
6. Some adjectives are irregular. We cannot add -est to form their superlatives.
Examples: good – better – the best
bad – worse – the worst
A. Complete the dialogue with the superlative form of the words in the brackets.

Puan Kala, the Science teacher, is talking to her class about a Science booth.
Next Monday, we will be setting up a booth at the Science fair. We must work together
to decorate the booth beautifully and also have informational displays. Everyone will
be divided into four groups.
Group 1 will find the curtains and table cloths for the booth at the shopping centre.

we want to avoid any tears on the day of the fair.
Group 2 will make the posters to pin on the walls of the booth. Use your creativity
to make the posters as interesting as possible. I will provide many photographs from
science magazines for you to use. You may also use any other suitable materials.
