1.0 PART 1 – CREATE EUCLIDEAN DISTANCE AND EXTRACT THE LAND USE

1. Open ArcMap 10.4 with blank page.

(Figure 1.1)

2. This figure 1.2 shows, add all the data from Lab 4 into ArcMap which is “Recreation
Park”, “School”, “Religious Facilities”, “Commercial” and “Road”.

(Figure 1.2)

1
3. Figure 1.3 shows the result after add all the data for Lab 4.

(Figure 1.3)

4. Figure 1.4 shows the step to start create the Euclidean Distance in ArcMap. The first
step is click on “ArcToolBox” then accessed to “Spatial Analyst Tools > Distance >
Euclidean Distance”.

(Figure 1.4)

2
5. Figure 1.5 shows, how to complete the table of Euclidean Distance. First, choose the
data for Lab 4 which is Recreation_Park, Commercial and others that related with this
Lab in “Input Raster or feature source data”. From this figure, I choose “Recreation
Park” data and set 10 meter for “Output Cell Size”.

(Figure 1.5)

6. This figure shows, the result after insert the “Recreation Park” data in Euclidean
Distance Tools.

(Figure 1.6)

3
7. Repeat all the step on above with continue with other data as mention in Lab exercise
which is “School, Religious Facilities, Commercial and Road”.

8. Figure 1.7 shows continue with Extract Data “Pertanian” from Land-use data using
Raster Calculator. Go to ArcToolBox > Spatial Analyst Tools > Map Algebra > Raster
Calculator.

(Figure 1.7)

9. Figure 1.8 shows how to extract the Land-use = Pertanian data in ArcMap. The step
is type “Landuse” == 1 and click “OK” in Raster Calculator Table.

(Figure 1.8)

4
10. Figure 1.9 and Figure 1.10 shows the result after Extract the Pertanian data from
Land-Use data in Lab 4.

(Figure 1.9)

(Figure 1.10)

5
2.0 PART 2 – RECLASSIFY THE DATA THAT HAS BEEN CREATED IN PART 1 LAB 4.

1. Figure 2.1 shows, how to reclassify the data. Go to Toolset which is Spatial Analyst
Tools > Reclass > Reclassify.

(Figure 2.1)

2. For this figure is shows the step to reclassify the Value Data for “Recreation Park”.
For Input Raster choose the Recreation then click “Classification” and change the
“Break Value” follow from exercise briefing which is create 4 classes (400m, 800m,
1200m and >1200m and above).

(Figure 2.2)

6
3. Figure 2.3, shows the result after doing reclassify for Recreation Park data.

(Figure 2.3)

4. Repeat the same step in Part 2 figure 2.1 until figure 2.2. But this time reclassify for
“School” data following with exercise briefing which is create 4 classes distance
(400m, 800m, 1200m and >1200m and above).

(Figure 2.4)

7
5. Figure 2.5 shows the result after reclassify for school data.

(Figure 2.5)

6. Repeat the same step from above. Classify the other data such as “Road” following
with exercise briefing which is create 5 classes distance (1000m, 2000m, 3000m,
4000m and above >4000m).

(Figure 2.6)

8
7. Figure 2.7 shows the result after reclassify for road data.

(Figure 2.7)

8. Repeat the same step from above. Classify the other data but for this time using the
“Religious Facilities” Data, following with exercise briefing which is create 4 classes
distance (400m, 800m, 1200m and >1200m and above).

(Figure 2.8)

9
9. Figure 2.9 shows the result before and after reclassify for Religious Facilities data.

BEFORE

AFTER

(Figure 2.9)

10
10. Repeat the same step from above. Classify the other data but for this time using the
“Commercial” Data, follow with exercise briefing which is create 4 classes distance
(400m, 800m, 1200m and >1200m and above).

(Figure 2.10)

11. Figure 2.11 shows the result before and after reclassify for Commercial data.

BEFORE

AFTER

(Figure 2.11)

11
12. Last one repeat the same step from above. Classify the other data but for this time
using the “Land-Use” Data, follow with exercise briefing which is create 2 classes
distance (0 and 1).

(Figure 2.12)

13. Figure 2.13 shows the result after reclassify for Land-Use data.

(Figure 2.13)

12
3.0 PART 3 – PERFORM SUITABILITY ANALYSIS USING RASTER CALCULATOR.
APPLY THE WEIGHTAGE ON EACH RECLASSIFIED RASTER DATA IN PART 2.

1. Figure 3.1, shows to perform the suitability analysis which is to create the Weightage
on each Reclassified data that has been doing in Part 2 in Lab 4. The step to create
the Weightage is access on ToolSet> Spatial Analyst Tools > Overlay > Weight
Overlay.

(Figure 3.1)

2. In this Figure 3.2 shows after click on “Weight Overlay”, add the data on the Reclassify
data that has been perform or create in pervious which is Part 2. In this figure I choose
“Reclassify for Commercial”.

(Figure 3.2)

13
3. Figure 3.3 shows repeat the same step from previous figure 3.2 which is add all the
criteria from Reclassify data. For example add the rest (Pertanian, School, Road,
Religious Facilities and Recreation Park).

(Figure 3.3)

4. Fill all the Weightage Percentage into each criteria, refer and follow the exercise
instruction for example Pertanian (20), Commercial (20), School (20), Road (20),
Religious (10) and Recreation Park (10). Until get 100 value in Sum of influence.

(Figure 3.4)

14
5. Figure 3.5 shows the result of Site Suitability after perform the overlay weightage
analysis with all the raster data that have been reclassified.

(Figure 3.5)

6. Figure 3.6 shows that the Attribute Table for Weightage. So in this table we can see
each Count in each Objective and Value is different.

(Figure 3.6)

15
7. Figure 3.7 shows chance the color in “Layer Properties” to see the different of the Value
which mean from this table mention that the lowest is 2 and the Highest is 5.

(Figure 3.7)

8. This is the result after chance the color. The green is indicate as ‘Lowest’ and the Red
color is indicate as ‘Highest’ value. As we can see the green color is the suitable area
to build any development and for red color is unsuitable for build new development.

(Figure 3.8)

16
9. Calculate area based on Raster dataset. Click on “Attribute Table” then choose “Add
Field” for area and change Type to “Double”.

(Figure 3.9)

10. This figure 3.10 shows how to calculate the area in acre. In field calculator click on
[Count] as referring number of sum that being classified into weightage, the click * as
multiply wave with 100. Why 100? Because as the total after 10 of x multiply by 10 of
y get from “cell size” in Raster Information. The outcome is [Count]*100/4046.856
(acre number) because the instruction want calculate areas in acre.

(Figure 3.10)

17
11. Figure 3.11 shows the area result for class number 2, 3, 4 and 5 in acre.

(Figure 3.11)

18
12. Map for Suitable area in Weightage.

(Figure 3.12)
