Biggest pain : Business earnings are becoming increasingly unclear due to the high
and volatile price of chicken feed, as well as the unpredictable quality of chicken feed.
Some of the reasons why chicken farm owners lose money include the high and fluctuating
price of chicken feed, which means that if the price is too high, chicken farmers will lose money
if the selling price of chicken is too low. Meanwhile, the quality of the chicken feed is a
determining factor; sometimes “Complete” chicken feed makes the cage dusty, and occasionally
the hens refuse to eat the feed.
The persona shown above is a business owner who is still relatively young and willing to
make changes and learn in doing his business. So that if he is offered the most up-to-date
solution that he believes would be more profitable for his company, he will be fast to implement
it and provide more detailed feedback.
1. Currently, efishery companies are facing a tight budget, so what Gibran should do is
continue to choose to fund ripple sensors and dive into data services rather than branch
out companies into coastal shrimp. Gibran must continue to make its efisheryfeeder
product even better because currently, Gibran's products have received a lot of criticism
from its customers. this could potentially make Gibran's products replaced in the market
by the usual conventional workforce or by other competing companies because the
current efisheryfeeder is still too easy to be imitated by other companies that have strong
funds and good R&D. This should make Gibran consider funding on the ripple sensors
and dive into data services because it will make efishery issue different products and
services that are difficult to imitate which are very beneficial for fisher farmers and
Gibran companies. Gibran also has to maintain venture capital confidence because the
company's finances are currently very tight. f Gibran continues to create a line of coastal
shrimp business, then new operations, new R&D, and new marketing are needed.
Coastal shrimp are more difficult to maintain than fish farming. This will make Gibran
have to develop a new tool that is suitable for the coastal shrimp pond.
2. There are some pros and cons to the Shrimp line of business, the Cons are that it
spreads along the coastline making it more time-consuming to visit and results in a long
supply and service chain. A shrimp farm needs a Larger pond than a fish pond and
water salinity is higher than a fish pond, so a tool is also needed to adjust the water
salinity for shrimp pons and needs to modify the existing feeders to match the shrimp
pond. The shrimp farming business is full of competitors. About 90% of farmers still use
simple homemade feeders. The pros of this shrimp pond market are that the average
shrimp farmer had five times the number of ponds, so they have a larger ticket size per
sale and better margin than fish farmers, making them the most likely to purchase the
feeders. So from this shrimp market, it has the potential to be faster to break even.
Profits from this new line can be used to improve all efishery products. On Fishbiz and
FishFax, Fishbiz helping farmers to improve their operation, processing data using
algorithms that will help predict harvests, FishFax rated fish farmers based on their
purchase and harvest histories, the scoring will help the farmers with a good score will
be identified and this will help the bank to give loan to a good creditor. It is predicted that
when more fish farmers borrow money from the bank, they would purchase efishery
automatic feeding equipment. Gibran's issue was that he wasn't sure if he had enough
excellent data, clients, or data processing competence to execute this. Gibran should
continue to concentrate on fishbiz and fishfax since they are extensions of the primary
project and will help it develop. Gibran cannot manage the shrimp project since it has too
many drawbacks and insufficient funds, posing a danger of disappointing efishery
investors.
3. The data services will scale up faster because they already have a base of users,
namely fish farmers who already have an efishery. If Gibran succeeds in developing
data services, this will make efishery products even more effective and will lower
fishfarmer operational costs so that it will make Gibran's company more difficult to
compete with and there will be more new customers if Gibran succeeds in perfecting its
products. In the shrimp business line, Gibran's main rival is the homemade feeder which
is used by roughly 90% of the shrimp farmer. Gibran must make a tool that is truly more
effective and efficient to compete with this homemade feeder. So Gibran has to do more
research and it will take longer.
