The Zip file containing the spreadsheet calculation for Fire life Safety and Structural loading
based on IBC 2000 and 2003 edition. Calculation for Snow load had been add to this revised.
The application is created by Yo Ratanapeanchai, SE. The spreadsheet is intended as an
educational tool for the learning and understanding of the IBC 2000, IBC 2003 and ASCE7-02
edition. It will perform both Fire Life Safety (chapter 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 15 ,29) and Structural
(Snow, wind, earthquake Load, Chapter 16). Require Microsoft Excel 2000 or later. This
spreadsheets has been protected to prevent overwriting the format and formulas (except work
sheet PL, Detail and Beam). The input values or cells are indicated in blue font type or drop down
input. The program works best with macro enable but not required. To enable macro see Excel
help file. The application is freeware, so feel free to distribute.

The IBC spreadsheet was created so that it’s shown similarity with hand calculation. The result
can be easily verified (step by step) by hand calculation. I use the password to protect the
integrity of the spreadsheet. The user can exam or modify the content of cells by copy and paste
command to the new workbook. Please note that only worksheets Arch, Egress, EQ and Wind
are password protected.

To modify the worksheet, click Tools, Option and check in block Row& column headers.
Click (at the corner of column and row) to highlight the entire worksheet, copy and paste to your
new worksheet and Unhide all columns and rows. You should be able to see the original format.
Modify any cell you like. For more details, please read Excel help files.
