A. Describe in your own words how increasing wealth affects the three kinds of pollution shown in the
graph?

Household sanitation problems is solved with modern equipment’s and supplies such as use of disinfectants and
cleaning tools. Modern technology affects where we use our wealth.  The use of fans and heating, ventilation,
and air conditioning helps in air circulation thus better setting. By creating and placing cleaning kits throughout
your home, you encourage maintenance and proper cleanliness in expense of wealth.

Rich people use common appliances in house that contribute to the greenhouse gas emissions in the atmosphere
such as refrigerator, freezers and incandescent light bulbs. Reducing the use of said appliances help reduce the
amount of greenhouse gas produced. With more wealth an individual produces more household garbage that
will end up in landfill eventually decomposing and producing methane and other green house gases.

Middle class is the largest consumer of products and energy. That’s why urban air pollution can be found at
large in middle class. Most of individuals that use that use biomass fuels, cigarettes, cookstoves and pollutants
from vehicles settles in the middle class. The society is designed that necessity can always produce pollution.
Necessity without repercussions to the environment is often too expensive.

B. Why do the trends differ?

Trends differ depends on how modern technology help us in dealing with different pollutions.
Technological advancement can cause or decrease pollution on different aspects. Poor or outdated
application of technology can be fatal for our environment.
