2. Sit on the ground with your legs outstretched and flat on the ground. Reach and try to touch your
toes. Next allow your knees to bend a little, and reach for your toes again. Can you stretch farther?

a. What leg muscles are you primarily stretching?

b. What are the origin and insertion of these muscles?

c. Based on the origin and insertion, explain why you can reach farther when your knees are bent.
