context I: Teaching reading and listening for communicative competence

General Objective: Design effective remediation strategies to address problems in teaching

and reading and listening.

Proficient Teachers:

Identify problem areas in reading for various grade levels (in English, Filipino, and mother

tongue).

Identify problems areas in listening for various grade levels ((in English, Filipino, and mother

tongue).

Highly Proficient Teachers:

Address one reading and one listening problem by identifying cause(s) and proposing doable

remediation strategies.

Session 3 Innovations in Language Teaching for multilingual learners in a global

context II: Teaching writing and speaking for communicative competence


General Objective: Design effective remediation strategies to address problems in teaching

and learning wiring and speaking.

Proficient Teachers:

Identify problem areas in writing for various grade levels (in English, Filipino, and mother

tongue).

Identify problems areas in speaking for various grade levels ((in English, Filipino, and mother

tongue).

Highly Proficient Teachers:

Address one writing and one speaking problem by identifying cause(s) and proposing doable

remediation strategies.

Session 4: Teaching the mother tongue for global competitiveness

General Objective: Compare and contrast effective teaching strategies for English, Filipino

and mother tongue

Proficient Teachers:

Identify issues and challenges in teaching the mother tongue in their particular schools / area.

Highly Proficient Teachers:

Design and construct interactive materials that can be used for online teaching in order to

address the lack of materials for MTBMLE.
