1. What is the purpose of enhanced


Kindergarten Blocks of Time?

Answer: It is a teacher’s guide. It contains


competency-based, developmentally-
appropriate and inclusive learning
experiences which shall be facilitated
properly by the teachers

2. What is the medium of instruction in


teaching Kindergarten?

Answer: MTB – language of the child

3. Should the teacher use Sinugbuanong


Binisaya or English or Filipino?

No. The teacher should use the language of


the child. If the children are multilingual (using
SB, English and Filipino) in their daily
conversation, then the teacher should be
multilingual (using SB, English and Filipino)
too.

4. How are TSAs and IAs carried out


during instructional delivery?
Answer: Play-based manner

5. Can we group the learners as one during


Teacher Supervised activities?

Answer: No. Small group instruction is best


for young learners as it is easy for the
teachers to give students the one-on-one
attention they need, to observe their learning
in action, and to provide constructive
feedback.
6. What should be done if the learners
are able to accomplish their activities
before the time?

Answer: Part of eKBT package are


buffer activities for the learners to
engage in.
7. What is the most important part of
the blocks-of-time?

Answer: All the parts are important.


Learners should go through all the
parts daily.
8. Do we teach reading in Kindergarten?
Answer: Yes. Reading is decoding times
comprehension. We teach kindergarten
how to decode and we teach them
vocabulary words
9. Should we teach FSL to the
Kindergarten?

Yes. In an inclusive community all types of


learners learn together and communicate
with each other.
10. Do we have to print the eKBT.

Yes. In the first year of implementation, you


have to print. Thereafter, the supervisors will
deliberate on its impact and what to
improve, including whether or not a new
printed copy is needed.
11. Do we have to follow what is in the
eKBT?

No. Teachers are encouraged to make


modification on the experiences when
these are not appropriate for the learners
handled.
12. Is there fund allocation for the
production of learning resources needed?

Yes. Teachers are given IMs allowance


every year. Materials can also be charged
against school MOOE.
13. Can teachers occupying KG Items
be transferred to other grade level:

Answer: Yes/No
> Yes. He/She can transfer PROVIDED
THAT HE/SHE GIVES UP HIS/HER KG
ITEM.
13. Can KG teachers be promoted?

Answer: YES. Just like teachers in the


general education classes, the KG teachers
also can be promoted to T2, T3, etc…..
Clarifications on MTB as MOTL
• Medium of Teaching and Learning (MOTL) refers to
the Language of Instruction (LOI) or Medium of
Instruction (MOI) where Mother Tongue of the
learners shall be the primary language used in
teaching and learning in Kindergarten.
• Mother Tongue refers to the “language or
languages first learned by a child, which he or she
identifies with, is identified as a native language
user of by others, which he or she knows best, or
uses most.” (Section 4(d), Implementing Rules and
Regulations of RA 10533).
