INTRODUCTION
The King Air 300/350 lighting system consists of cockpit-controlled interior and exterior lights.

Interior lights are in the cockpit and passenger cabin and also include entry and exit threshold
lights and baggage area lights. Exterior lights consist of landing, taxi, wing ice, navigation,
recognition, rotating beacons, wingtip and tail strobe lights, and the tail and threshold flood-
lights. The airplane is also equipped with emergency lights.

WING ICE LIGHTS

Wing ice lights, located on the outboard side

of each nacelle (Figure 3-5), are provided to
illuminate the wing leading edges to determine
ice buildup.

They are controlled by the ICE lights circuit-

breaker switch, located on the pilot’s right sub-
panel in the LIGHTS group (Figure 3-6).The

wing ice lights should be used as required during
night flight to check for wing ice accumulation.
Since the wing ice lights operate at a high tem-
perature, they should not be used for prolonged
periods while the airplane is on the ground.
