WATERMELON AS A NUTRITIOUS ENERGY DRINK FOR ENRICHING IRON IN THE

BODY

Statement of the Problem

This study is conducted to know if watermelon can be a nutritious energy drink that can

enrich iron in the body.

Specifically it seeks to answer the following questions

1. What component will be added to the watermelon to enhance the taste of the

energy drink?

2. How many ml can be extracted from a 1 kg watermelon?

3. Is there a significant difference between the watermelon energy drink and the

commercial ones in terms of its:

A. Nutritional value

B. Taste

C. Appearance

D. Effectiveness

Methodology

Materials

 1 kg watermelon
 500 ml water
 50 grams sugar
 2 bottle
 Juicer

Procedure

First the researcher will gather all the materials that will be used mainly the

wasted part of the watermelon. Next some additives will be added to enhance the flavor

and the texture of the energy drink. Then the watermelon will be extracted by a juicer.

The extracted juice will be the energy drink. Finally, the energy drink is ready to s

Data Gathering Instrument

The instrument that will be used in gathering data is a checklist. The repondents need to

test the watermelon energy drink by its taste, nutritional value, refreshing and

energizing.

Research Respondent

The research respondents will be the people who are less energized and anemic. The

age range would be from age 12 and above.


Research Design

The study will be conducted using Two-Group Design. The objective of the study is to

determine the effectiveness of watermelon energy drink that can enrich iron in the body.

The researcher will use the T-test to determine the significant difference between the
different kinds of energy drinks.

Conclusions and Recommendations
Conclusion

By the result given, the conclusion would be there is just a little bit difference
between the product and the commercial one and so in terms of its attributes the
product is more likely possible to surpass the commercial one. But in that case, it is only
possible when there will be an improvement on the product itself. The product is
expected to be a big help to its subjects.

Recommendation

Improvement especially on the physical attributes of the product is mainly


needed. The main priority would be how will the product satisfy its respondent and what
will be its effect on the subject. Explore and know more about the things that might help
the product to boost up its possibility to be sold on the market. More importantly focus
on its effectiveness. By that the product will be more.
