8. Pegawai Gred Utama Turus I, II dan III, pegawai Gred Utama Butiran 36,
‘A’, ‘B’ dan ‘C’, dan pegawai Gred 54 dan 52 mengambil 38, 39, 56,
keutamaan antara mereka sendiri berdasarkan tarikh 58, 60, 64
pelantikan mereka. Pegawai Perkhidmatan Awam, Tentera dan 66.
dan Polis mengambil keutamaan antara mereka sendiri dalam
tingkatan mereka masing-masing berdasarkan tarikh
kemasukan mereka dalam tingkatan itu, dengan syarat
bahawa penyandang jawatan memangku mengambil
keutamaan antara mereka sendiri selepas semua penyandang
jawatan hakiki dan kontrak dalam tingkatan yang sama.

THE Federal Order of Precedence in the First Schedule has been approved by the
Yang di-Pertuan Agong and is published for general information.

NOTE
2. The Rulers and Yang di-Pertua Negeri of the States take Items 3 and 4.
precedence among themselves in accordance with Article 70
of the Federal Constitution.
3. Persons awarded to the Darjah Pangkuan Negara, Darjah Setia Items 9, 12, 35, 42,
Mahkota, Darjah Jasa Negara or Darjah Setia Diraja take 54, 55, 61, 62 and
precedence within their respective grades according to the dates 63.

8. Staff I, II and III officers, Grade ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’ officers, and Items 36, 38, 39,

Services, Military and Police take precedence among themselves
within their respective grades according to the dates of their
entries into the grade, provided that the holders of acting
appointments take precedence among themselves after all
holders of substantive appointments in the same grade.

the order assigned by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

Bodies and Heads of Federal Statutory Bodies takes precedence 60 and 64.

12. A person who is entitled to more than one place in the First
Schedule takes precedence according to the highest place, for
example a Chairman of a Federal Statutory Body who is also a
member of Panglima Mangku Negara, takes precedence as
specified in item 35 and not item 56.
13. Subject to note 12, wives take the same precedence as their
husbands and husbands take the same precedence as their wives.
14. Persons not mentioned in the First Schedule will take precedence
in accordance with established usage subject to such special
guidance as may be given by the Prime Minister’s Department
from time to time.
